Songwriters with some studio help for a pretty solid jangly, psych-pop effort with some country rock / rural influences. Is this a session band?

I enjoy spinning this one now and again, even more so since I found a VG copy in a $3 bin. :)

I didn't know this, that cover is crazy though. Definitely catches your eye. I would blind buy this just for that. Just did my third entry as well, thanks for starting this thread, made me want to start doing videos again.

That is great to hear Tom, looking for to that and then whatever else you cook up! Though I'm just realizing I didn't see your Quantum video. Somehow slipped past me. Will check that out today!

Great stuff, Dom! I dig this sound. With so many records to dig through your channel really helps me keep an eye out for cool stuff. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. ✌🏽Oh and that album cover! 1960s clickbait. 😂

Totally Steve, how do you not grab that record once you lay eyes on the cover. Glad my videos have been informative. Helps when you have 50k records to go through.

I have a cd reissue of Crazy Horse Roads, a cd compilation, a 7 in promo with Farenheit along with singles from 3 other bands and a 45 of Lady In Lace. The latter was the biggest hit locally. I likely saw them at least once or twice.

Hey Dom. I'm on the hunt for that lp. I just picked up their 2nd lp for a decent price. The one you showed is rare and expensive. Light acid rock with psych and folk mixed in is a good description. I dig their vibe. Peace.

Classic west coast record here. “Nightcap” & “Finger Painting” back to back is nice. “Doomsday” is a fun rocker too. I listened to this pretty frequently once I bought it. I can’t recommend “Aurora”. There might’ve been a highlight or two, but it’s a little more polished than this. For some reason though, is more valuable the times I’ve seen it for sale. Kind of crazy the sensors never withdrew that cover.

From a cover perspective, it ranks as one of the greatest ever. I think the music can only be a bit of a letdown with that cover but musically it is quite good and well played. definitely classic WC lp

Solid psych pop effort as you described however their 2nd LP (AURORA) from 1969 also on Capitol contains their best work on the the song (INCA TREASURE ) a great psych track and a must have for a serious psych collector in my opinion.....Dan

Hmm seems like psych heads are very much split on that. Some have said Aurora is overrated and others say its weaker. I will give a listen

Not familiar with this band, but I live in San Jose area and seems they were inspired by the Winchester Mystery House. Lots of Stained Glass in that house and the band took photos inside the house next to a picture of Sarah Winchester. Like the vocals on this record.

Wow good connection there. Seems one way or another they wanted that to be a connection. Though there are a lot of bands with that moniker.

The band Mason Profitt must have been inspired by this cover, because in 1970 their album "Wanted" copied it but toned it down to only two hanged men!

Still kick myself for not buying this a decade ago or so for £10 at a record fair (and this is in the UK so stuff like this just doesn't turn up). It was vg and I wasn't familiar with it but 10 minutes later I had a change of heart and went back to buy it but it was gone. I was annoyed but just shrugged it off. It was only when I got home and listened online that I got really unhappy as its the type of lp I love. Another one that got away. Cheers Nige

Hey Nigel, I've been there for sure. I try and kill the impulse to walk away if something seems to good to be true, and just go for it. That is an amazing price though.

I liked the sample you played but wow, only slightly above average for the genre, I like my albums slightly above slightly Dom lol. I would buy that for the cover, how morbid is that. No doubt that is what the group was also hoping for

hey Steve, that' why I bought it...that cover! Too good! Music isn't quite the same caliber but I like the mix of Moby Grape styled jangly psych rock and country flavored folk.
