ACID DRACONIC SORCERER / Lore Bard Build: Baldur's Gate 3

Not the most common build but here is an Acid Draconic Sorcerer / Bard Build Guide in Baldur's Gate 3. This isn't as strong as some other classes in Baldur's Gate 3 but you can still use things like Chromatic orb to be decently powerful. We get hunger of Hadar this way and also from the Kereska's favour staff. This allows us to cast quite a few acids spells in combat, which is very useful for some scenarios. I wanted to try and build purely around acid damage which is actually harder than it looks! 6 sorcerer / 6 lore bard seems to be a decent split

Agreed! Thematic builds >>> OP builds. But sometimes you can get both! Pure lightning Draconic or storm sorcerer are fun and very powerful The beauty of BG3 is you can beat the game with any build

The think I love about this game is the fact that you can win on honor mode without having to min/max or power game. My current playthrough is a 1lvl in Selunite War Cleric + 11 in Moon Druid simply for the thematic aspect and cool Dialogue options with Tav and Shadowheart (Shar vs Selune) but also the great interactions act 1 as a Druid + getting Khaga's reward for saving the grove as a Druid.

That is a really cool build! It also works well since the war cleric gives martial weapon proficiency for the moon Druid’s Myrmidon forms!

@@JasonDunna The Myrmidon is the part I'm looking forward to, I havent tried it yet... I actually didnt realise that synergy with the War Cleric until you mentioned it. Thanks.

@@OldManMoko the Air Myrmidon is the strongest I think but the fire one can apply haste to itself! I usually use the water Myrmidon when I summon because it can set up vulnerability to cold and lightning damage easily

Not the most optimal but we can take advantage of kereska’s favor: “Sizzling Cataclysm” to increase acid damage and cast hunger of hadar and melf’s acid arrow. Acid damage isn’t amazing but it can be cool if you want to build around it!

I love these kinds of builds just for casual fun non min/max runs, maybe a normal or custom dif run where you don't have to worry and can just play with all this games really fun and cool spells

@@scottbyers9258 totally agree, this one has multiple fun choices between Hunger of hadar and spirit guardians depending if you want to move around or crowd control

I always get super confused with Acid and Poison and I always forget they're different damage types 😭

Poison is the most resisted damage type in the game so acid is a bit better, but there’s not many acid damage spells in the game :( Poison at least gets cloud kill and zombies aren’t hurt by it

Would it be an idea to go wizard for melfs acid arrow and does acid explode with fire like in divinity ?

You could! I wanted to get hunger of hadar because it’s an awesome acid spell, but wizard works as well! You can get melf’s acid arrow from the staff I’m using too. Acid surface decreases armor class by 2 which is really nice but doesn’t get set on fire

Hi! I have a super quick question! I have been playing as a storm sorcerer (I’m only level 4 on my first run so pls forgive my ignorance) but when I was picking feats I chose the one that gave me the access to level wizard spells because I wanted eldritch blast. But I’m wondering… because it is a wizard spell, is is cast based on Charisma like my native spells or is it cast based on Intelligence like wizard spells are? I haven’t multiclassed yet but when I do I’m going to do 2 levels of tempest cleric. So I’m wondering how multiclassing works? Do you still cast your sorc spells from charisma and your cleric spells from wisdom? Thanks for any help, I haven’t been able to find much online about it but I’m probably just uninformed so what I’m searching for isn’t going to point me in the right direction. Thank you!!!

If you take the magic initiate wizard they are cast with intelligence! But eldritch blast is a warlock spell so it actually is cast from charisma! And you got it right with the sorcerer / cleric. Whatever spells you take will be cast with that class’s spell casting modifier

If you get the dragon race you can spit acid as well(MK reptile build :) . It is interesting build, can we take warlock instead bard?

The Dragonborn just kinda suck though. I went with bard because otherwise we won’t get full spellcaster levels since the warlock has pact magic, but you totally can! I just wanted to get max level spell slots
