alternate picking is picking each note with the pick down up down up while legato is picking one note and "legato" the rest if you are not familiar with guitar you wont understand@@e_xcalibur578

so if you alternate pick 6 notes on the guitar you gonna pick 6 times. if you legato 6 notes you gonna pick 2 time only so thats why alternate picking is harder and sound better overall depending on what you play though... im 2 years late hahaha @@e_xcalibur578
