You didn't have to go through all that trouble to make kick delay, main SSL kick mixer channel -> right click -> create parallel channel and done. You can make 303 sounds with a multitude of stock devices or simply get 3rd party dedicated devices like the ABL3. You have barely scratched the surface of what Reason can do these days, it is an amazing bit of software and the rack can also work as a plugin in Ableton if you don't want to use Reason's sequencer. Enjoy!

As a Reason lover, I tip my hat to you. It's great to see you having fun rediscovering it. So many more things I would enjoy seeing you explore. Like how extensively you can edit and create drum sounds in Kong. Or creating pulsating sounds in Europa. Or reinventing samples in Mimic. Especially for someone with your expertise. That could be a popular series, because of how much you would be genuinely loving it. And so would we all.

Great video Oscar, loved how excited you were revisiting some familiar and some not so areas of the Reason rack. Reason is really under supported from a techno (and dance music in general) point of view great to see that maybe you will be doing more with it as your videos are always informative. Looks like this video is popular enough to consider it 👍
@PieterLaroy3 жыл бұрын
Hey Oscar, very nice video! I'm both an Ableton & Reason user, and I use both products. Did you know you can now use the Reason Rack as both a VST instrument and effect in Ableton. For me, that's really the best of both worlds. Maybe some tips. If you're working in the reason daw, you could in my opinion use parallel mixer channels to achieve a similar, but more controllable rumble effect. And for your acid bass, you could use the Pattern Mutator Player to generate the variations (also when using reason as a plugin). Keep on bringing your video's into the world ;-)
@PhillipOmusic3 жыл бұрын
Awesome! More Reason stuff! The workflow has changed quite a bit, though, you may want to explore the workflow a bit more. For example you don't need to create a mix channel before creating a new instrument; they get created automatically. You do want to create mix channels when you want to route audio from one device (like a drum machine) onto separate tracks though. Keep it up! Edit: ps: holding shift when creating a new device el prevent it from auto routing, so you can do any uncommon routing you desire without ruining your current routings.

I'm working a lot in Reason, I think since 2005, and yet discover new things everyday. I really enjoyed your video and would love to see more video tutorials in Reason, especially regarding techno. I take a lot input/ideas/inspiration from your Ableton videos and techniques, that have helped me to achieve a better workflow and better sound in Reason too. However it's a bit hard for me, to transfer these techniques to Reason, because it uses different tools than Ableton and is a different environment. So yeah, I would really love to see you doing more in Reason to get even better at what I love doing: creating music. Thanks for the great and inspiring videos and keep them coming :)

Rebirth was its own thing, so was Propellerhead's Reason. The cool thing about Propellerhead was and still is for me, Rewire. It allows you to combine many DAW's including Rebirth with Reason so you can bring in the audio from Rebirth into Reason and then edit it. Since I moved on to actual hardware, Reason, Rebirth and Rewire still has a place in my heart as I too started there.
