The usual charge here In Ca is $400-$500 depending. Not sure if the pool popping out is an Urban Legend. I have never actually seen it happen nor have I heard other poolguys worry about it. Maybe Google it ;)

Should you wait to use a pool heater after an acid wash?

How much calcium did you have to add?

In Southern CA outside of LA. Calcium out of tap is close to 200 ppm due to well water. So nothing.

Does Borax neutralize acid?

Borax absorbs both base and acid so it can keep your pH right around 7.8 with little effort. So you won;t get a lot of pH bounce up or way down.
