Or if you went the arcade route, release a new update with a new character or two a few months after release. Roll does have some differences in terms of a super, damage output, lack of charge shot & a move all to herself

@7:40 No, Red Venom isn't just faster, he's literally the best character in the whole game. That's why he has reduced health. Literally everything he does can potentially lead into an infinite combo and deals more damage than normal venom. They don't play the same either. Orange Hulk also has different combo routes than regular Hulk and I'm pretty sure Gold War Machine takes less damage while mid-air. Also, Playstation versions aren't Arcade versions. That's why boss characters aren't playable. All these games are just emulated.

4:41 Note, the reason why the final boss is not selectable, is because the game will make you fight Apocalypse and it becomes massively glitched out (if I recall right, same thing happens with Cyber Akuma). Mephisto does produce fire off of attacks, Mecha Gief has Hyper Armor (and is unable to block, becomes an Install Super in MvC1 and 2). U. S. Agent is literally 100% just Captain America with different winquotes. Armored Spider-man has 1 hit of Super Armor similar to Hulk and normal Gief

It's not glitched on the playstation version. You don't get the Apocalpyse vs Apocalypse fight. It only has Cyber Akuma at the end. I think you're referring to the Arcade version with cheats / code alterations. I went through it fine on PS1. He even has an ending / congratulations text.

The reason the boss character s are not selectable is because the version of these games are based on the arcade versions not home ports so the home ports had extra characters and options added to extend the longevity for home play. This collection just like the previous collection release are basically the arcade original versions with just the arcade extras charters and no extra modes just added options and settings.

About some of the secret characters from MvC1: -Orange Venom is not only faster he also has more damage so its fair him to be a glass cannon HP wise, still he is one of the staples of the competitive meta, you just ride or die with him lol. -Orange Hulk is almost like an older version of Hulk, I think in MSH and MSH vs SF he didnt had super armor like his default version in MvC1 so its there if you prefer more speed but losing the super armor on his buttons, if only his pantes were blue he could be a reference to "The Thing" heh... -Golden War-Machine you are right on most of his descriptions and its also a reference for the first Iron Man armor that was...golden, so "in a way" you "can" play as "Iron Man" in this game lol, also another bastard of a character that is very overused in the competitive scene, its neat that in Marvel 2 War-Machine got Golden animations to be different from Tony Stark returning. -Capcom secret characters are more obvious in their differences.

Only thing you missed that I know of are how to select your assist in MvC1. But that’s a bit much. Each button corresponds to a number LP = 1, MP = 2, HP = 4, LK = 8, MK = 16, HK = 32? There are 22 assists (20 displayed and 2 secret assists [sentinel and Charlie]). If you’re corresponding button presses match up with the number for the assist you want you get that assist. You press and hold the corresponding button’s to get the assist you want before the assist selection appears. Here’s the assists in order. 1. Unknown soldier (light punch) 2. Lou (medium punch) 3. King Arthur (light and medium punches) 4. Saki (hard punch) 5. Tong-Pooh (light and hard punches) 6. Devilot (medium and hard) 7. Anita (3 punches) 8. Pure and fur (light kick) 9. Yeah another benefit is the special meter fills up faster if he's on your team against Cyber Akuma i had hulk at low health I used Gama Wave out of desperation to get 12 hits then I did some counter attacking and I was at LV1 that fast I won with one final gama wave that was clutch

I imported the Japanese version on Dreamcast, and I was completely heartbroken, because: 1- That version of the game requires to download unlocked characters from specialized arcade cabinet of Japanese MVC2 into the Dreamcast's VMU. 2- I don't live in Japan, and said arcade cabinet is only available there. 😭 The US version switched all that into in-game unlock.

The Marvel vs Capcom collection is good, but the thing i don't like about it is, they took the training mode off of marvel capcom 2 and you can't collect score points to buy the characters as usual. They should have added marvel vs Capcom 3 to the collection as well, it would of been more awesome! Are they could add it as a dlc later on in the near future.

I wish Capcom could include the game versions with the most content, like the PS1 versions you mentioned that have more characters. It probably has to do with licensing or emulation issues, but it's still unfortunate. Their next upcoming collection has the same problem, with Power Stone 2 using the arcade version instead of the superior Dreamcast or PSP collection version.

You left one difference out for Mephisto, his attacks adds fire effects, they don't add to damage. but it is a difference. Also Armored Spider-Man doesn't jump as high as Spider-Man does, given how heavy the Armored suit is. Also hyper venom's specials have been altered a little. For example, he doesn't use venom fang unlike the original venom. Instead he uses a move called Venom Bite, which is his heavy punch attack but you can spam it for him to bite the opponent multiple times.

It really sucks that you can't play as Onslaught in MvC1. Unlocking him was part of the fun when owning the console version. Hopefully this gets fixed in a future update!

5:10 I need to check but I think Mephisto attacks burn the opponent than what effect Blackheart does but...that's it lol, its only worth if you are bored of BH two colors Also only Akuma and Spider code makes sense, why not press start on Sakura for Ansatsuken Sakura, start on BH for Mephisto, etc...a mystery indeed.

I’m pretty sure the reason you can’t select secret characters that were in the PlayStation versions is because these are the Arcade versions of the games.

And the boss characters like Magento and Cyber Akuma were not playable in arcade but they are now. My point is they could've coded the extras in the game but chose not to

Hyper Venom isn't just a speed upgrade. he also has a different special attack that replaces the Venom Bite. Orange hulk is supposedly supposed to play like in MSH, I honestly don't see how but I think his combos are more consistent? Lilith mode morrigan is worse than a clone. Her special and super moves are changed to be more like Lilith in darkstalkers wich in this game makes her a weaker character You also didn't showcase Roll who should be to the right of Megaman. She has a similar move set to megaman but her stubbier normals and an unchargable buster that goes from a 1 button projectile to a hadouken style input with wind up frames since she has to equip the buster before firing makes her a far weaker character. she's in fact considered the weakest character in all the franchise especially in the sequel.

I was wondering how to play as Cyber Akuma, looks like I'm gonna have fun with my friends at some point with this game. Kind of disappointing that the bosses aren't playable, I mean even MVC3 let you play as Galactus, although I only remember doing that on the Vita version. Maybe some time they could add an update to that game that adds that feature, I dunno.

I noticed some of the easy select options include stuff where it'll restrict you from choosing those characters (like cyber-akuma). I assume this is for tournament play but are there any other characters that are selectable that really shouldn't?

The would-be selectable bosses in some of the games (Abyss, Apocalypse, etc) were fixed and tweaked in later ports to become (semi functionally) playable in an actual match but considering that the versions of these games released in the collection are all arcade roms, it's no wonder why they removed them from being playable. I believe Apocalypse just crashes the game if you beat arcade with him lmao.

Because Vega is Bison’s Japanese name. If you play Japanese version, he’ll be named as Vega while in English version, he’ll be named as Bison. Also, apart Bison is named Vega in Japanese, Vega is named as Balrog while Balrog is named as Bison.
