Two things really puzzled me, the mysterious voice that cried out as the Khan Maykr died and most importantly the words from VEGA as the portal rings aligning for our escape "am I the father, Dr. Hayden?"

Misterious Voice: Satan himself. Oh yes, VEGA is Makyr's Father after all, so Hayden took Vega and transplanted it into a terrestial computer (Vega Core). Whe he is connected again to the Makyr's network, he becomes self aware of what he was before. But after this, we don't remove him or we don't know what happens after. Probably he is going to help you with Makyr tech in the next doom game...who knows!

Pay attention to the portals you go through spawned by VEGA and subsequently Samuel Hayden. VEGA's are blue, Hayden's are red (and the Marauder is spawned in by a red portal...). S. Hayden = Shayden = Satan. VEGA is the Father, the benevolent guiding voice (God). Vega also means "the brightest star", or "the meadow" (Paradise).

Origins of doomguy: he punched some officer and got sent to Mars because of it. Meanwhile experiments with hell artifacts happened and everyone were dead except doomguy and he decided to kill these demons that came. Later he got back to earth and same thing there. Then Doom 64 happened which story was basically "some demon was ressurecting demons you slayed. Go kill it" and doomguy stayed in hell and was killing even more demons during this time. This is the origins i knew for years

If you've beaten Eternal, you'll remember the Khan Maykr warning you that by releasing the Icon of Sin and killing her, you've upset the natural balance, potentially allowing Hell to rampage unchecked. They've been defeated for now, but it's likely the Dark Lords will not rest. Beyond that, what's the deal with the Father, and with VEGA? Hayden knows more than he lets on, as well. There's also the giant un-armored Maykr in Urdak where you drain the pool.

The doomguy was prophesied to become the slayer and the slayer was prophesied to destroy all evil and even the maykers as they became evil. There’s a higher power than the maykers, the father who actually gifted the maykers heavenly and godly powers. However in a codex entry it’s stated that the disappearance of the father was due to A seraphim. The specific seraphim was not named, however I theorise that the blessing of the seraphim to the doomguy actually give him the powers of the father. Thus making the doomguy/slayer the father himself and that’s why the father disappeared as his Essence was transferred to the PROPHESIED Slayer.

Samuel even talks in a way that shows a bit of distance. He says "your people" instead of humans. He has in depth knowledge of the makyrs and hell despite having no way of learning about it.

I remember getting Ultimate Doom one Saturday when my father and I went to microcenter, and I read the manual on the way home which had the story. Not just a blind rage or an uncontrollable blood lust, if that was the case, the Doom Slayer would murder absolutely everything in sight. The night sentinels would have also felt the bite of his steel barreled sword if he were just a madman bent on destruction, I believe the character to be so much deeper than that.

what what This is incorrect. Doctor Samuel Hayden in the doom lore was a human with cancer who transferred himself into a robot to live on. You can also clearly see tentacles at the bottom of the hooded figure which the other maykrs have too. Voice actors will often voice multiple roles in a project doesn’t mean they are the same character. Just look at other Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout they have the same voice actor voice many different characters that doesn’t mean they are all the same character.

Quake is now somewhat canon to Doom as well and there may be a new game in the works. The sentinel guards are based off Visor from Q3 Arena. Sentinel Prime was used as a map for Quake Champions. Doomguy has Quake 1 and Arena on his shelf in the Fortress, right next to Doom 1 and 2. Very specific to ignore Q2 and 4. The leaks that revealed Doomguy's face and the level list for Eternal about a year ago was correct, and it also claimed the story DLC will have Crash and Phobos from Quake 3 as protagonists.

By the way, doom 3 is still canon since we see the soul cube in both 2016 and eternal. What i would think happened is that doom marine was not in any way related to the slayer, and he was just another dude brutal enough to survive the Mars invasion. He would leave the soul cube behind in hell, where it was kept up until the UAC discovered it along with the doom slayer, which then was moved to lazarus labs on Mars, and it seems like it was somehow moved (maybe by doom slayer himself) to the fortress of doom. The fact that the soul cube is not a usable weapon against demons in doom 2016 and eternal confirms doom slayer doesn't know how to use it or that it is a weapon at all, neither does Hayden, which means doom marine is not directly related to anyone outside of doom 3.

Doomguy is from an alternate dimension (doom 1 to 64) that also has an earth, mars, etc and after years of warring with hell after the events of 64, he was cast into the sentinel world which is within the dimension of the recent two games. Hell from what im understanding exists between multiple dimensions which is why this was able to happen.

@@AcidGlow i always see doom 3 as separate but there are many forum posts and threads where people had theories on it actually falling into the same continuity as the other doom's but these theories don't line up the way that the Doom 2016 theories on it actually being a sequel to doom 1, 2 & 64 did. Reboots weren't really much of a thing for games in 2004 and the next installment in a game series was almost always numbered. The way i see it is doom 3 was a reboot/re imagining of Doom 1. The cancelled Doom 4 project was a re imagining of doom 2 in a way as it too was set on earth. Doom 1, Doom 2, Doom 64, Doom (2016) and Doom eternal are all in the same continuity. Now lets hope that Id software and Bethesda don't "reboot" Doom again and make it all confusing on weather the "reboot" is actually a sequel.

Good story summary! I read a lot about all the things that comes together with the Doom games, but there is one thing, that troubled me with the theory, that Doom 2016 is a continuation of Doom 64... I understood it that the maykrs and the demons were always aware of each other, their respective domains are canonically inverted in a trans-dimensional plane inaccessible to physical life. It was always the prerogative of the maykrs to bless and give salvation to living creatures, but when uac gave hell access to the mortal plane, it would set off a series of events which led to doomguy being given unimaginable power which separated the maykrs from the father and it was this separation that turned the Kahn against life and drove her to seek universal rule. This makes sense to me because it seems very unlikely that, in the presence of the father the Kahn would broker a deal with hell. Remember than hell doesn't have unfettered access to mortals prior to uac creating portals and so prior to this souls would go to hell unless saved by maykrs and sent to urdak. I'm certain the maykrs were benevolent creatures prior to the arrival of doomguy. This timeline also explains the massive jump in technological advancement of the UAC from Doom 1/2/3 to Doom 2016, it's clear the Slayer had been in a campaign against hell for many years after killing the Titan.

It is the very same Hell. In the Divinity machine cutscene, the battle outside uses sounds from the classic Doom games. Also remember that according to D2016, demons morph and change according to their master at the time. Next is the fact that Doomguy has been fighting for so long through worlds and time, that his origin became muddled. Also, it is the same Icon. In D2016 it is stated that the Icon is just dormant, it is also said that Valen's son is used as a vessel for him, just like Olivia was for the Spider Mastermind which means that he Icon has been resurrected several times and the reason they used Valen's son's heart this time, was to take control of him. Finally, the codex states that Hell and Urdak exist outside of time and space and they aren't bound by it, but they are connected to several dimensions and realities. Hell is also stated to be an infinite realm.

OR because id didn't really have anything planned out story-wise 25 years ago and they are just now connecting the games with what they have. Also, Hell does mention the events of the classics (Daisy's death as the reason for his vengeance and Doomguy staying in Hell at the end of Doom 64). Even the Kahn Maykr alures about the possibility of bringing Daisy back.

I dont think he got corrupted i think he may be the father that was spirited away by samur when khans villany became known. I think samuel hayden is the seraphim because they both say the same line about gifts and he took the father and memory wiped it. That is vega. Onve vega hooked up to the portals in urdak he regained memory and became self aware that he was in fact the father. But that is just what i took away from the game.

Samuel Hayden is so genuis that He found a way to find harness argent energy,created VEGA which is first sentient artifical intelligence and desing his body which is at Doom Eternal VEGA said that his body as same as maykr technology.I believe that Samuel is the seraphim.Which explains how he can harness argent energy and design a maykr technology body.And VEGA is the essence of The Father which is he took it before departure from the Urdak.

Yeah I never understood that. The Wraiths were in this game got kicked to the sidelines too. Also in Doom 2016 Argent D’nur is in hell yet Exultia, Taras Nabad and Sentinel prime are not consumed in hell??? Shouldn’t these cities be in hell???

I think studying the Crucible, Sentinel Prime, the Argenta, the Maykrs, and Hell itself for years allowed Samuel to know all this information. But he didn't tell them about the Father directly, and instead had the Slayer find that out in one of the data logs he can find. Even though we left VEGA in the Maykr world, I hope we can get him back or activate a new backup of him. But it looks like that version of VEGA became the new Father when he was uploaded into the Maykr systems on Urdak. About the Slayer himself though, I think he was sent to the Doom 3 universe when his sarcophagus was first discovered, and after that universe's version of him stopped Hell on Mars, the Slayer himself was awakened when Olivia made her own move some time after Betruger failed. The soulless bodies of other lifeforms being turned into demons doesn't really make sense to me. I think instead, they're eventually possessed by demon souls and mutated by Hell itself to become either zombies or possessed mutants. But not all demons are created this way, some demons like a bunch of the Doom 2016 ones are native to Hell and naturally born there, like the 2016 Mancubus and the demon that would become the 2016 Cyberdemon. Still, I really hope we might meet the actual Heaven and God in a future Doom game and they appear as allies, even to the very end and in DLCs. And that we might see what happened to the Seraphim, the Night Sentinels, the remaining Maykrs now that they don't have to serve the corrupted Khan, and get to meet the Wretch in the future too.
