Great video. This is my old school. It was called Halifax Catholic High School when I was there. It was then renamed St Catherine’s. After this it closed and has been used for a couple of shows.

​@@belieber3502less Catholics so it was merged with Holy Trinity next to it and that was then demolished and a new school was built down the hill called Trinity Academy as Trinity was always the better school in grades and OFSTED reports.

Was a teacher at a local school during the filming of Ackley Bridge and it was pretty fun to be on the set during production.

This is amazing. I had to put my drink down when i saw the title of this video, i did not realised this was abandoned. I don't know how i never came across this video but i am so glad i did. I remember watching and enjoying this show, i just assumed it was a genuine school slightly changed temporarily for the show or something. Its interesting, because the same thing happened to the school building where Sex Education from Netflix was filmed, just abandoned

Security is on site 24/7 for some reason it’s my old school . Just to warn explorers be careful

All the English rooms were big rooms so some was made into smaller rooms afterwards but alot changed in that school over many years

What a waste of a nice building which is still in very good condition. With so many homeless people in the UK it would make excellent temporary accommodation. Thanks.

No it wouldn't it's not in anyway suitable to house people it has no where to wash, no private areas, no kitchens, plus it's been closed for 10 yrs. The bit of painting and set dressing for a TV show doesn't mean the building is in good condition. It should be demolished and houses built as they did with the two schools that used to be next to it.

@@simonsanigar3581 its on the site of 2 active highschools so tends to be pretty secure during day time and cctv on site as well.

It's not on the site of two active schools, the grammar school has a housing estate between this and that school which was the site of 2 former schools and the Trinity Academy is down the hill and replaced this and Holy Trinity which sat next door to it and was demolished. This will be demolished and either more playing fields will be added or it will be sold for housing. The original plan was to keep it if Trinity needed to expand but that's not been needed.

The actual school closed years ago. It's been used for filming the tv series Ackley Bridge more recently though.

I despised that show. Why does channel 4 have an unhealthy obsession with Islam anyway? It wasn’t a realistic show, when you see groups of youngsters out and about you very rarely see south Asians hanging out with them. Anyway great explore.

I can assure you there are plenty schools like ackley, mine was exactly the same and I ended up on the show. Just because you don't experience something doesn't mean it's not real
