Thank you for the feedback! Lol I do wonder about all these dishonest reviews people must be seeing out there. I’m definitely getting a lot of feedback on my honesty! Always though 😊

I love how brutally honest you are about the product and your "thesis" if you will in regards to trial and error on not just the product but the overall hair/hairdo results. This is absolutely lovely and a two thumbs up in my book to see. Well done🤗🤗👍🏾👍🏾

Thank you so much for this feedback! I've been so torn about going so much into my experience with styling because I didn't want to detract too much from the product review itself. Doing this makes my videos a lot longer but I feel like I'm not disclosing enough if I don't give all feedback. I'm glad this works for you :) Haha yea I don't think I can be anything but brutally honest about these things. My reactions are more often on my face than not so I can't hide much of anything lol

So excited you tried that Honey Leave-In =) If you are using multiple "squeeze bottle" leave-ins on wash day, would recommend using a makeshift "palette" to pour your multiple leave-in products on. Agree with other comments that you get amazing stretch from braid outs. Your hair looked like perfection at 13:48. Excited to see you add back in another product with hold and only use a hair pick to fluff your roots only (no additional separating)

@UptightCurlsbyAmanda 4 жыл бұрын
Will remember to copy this reply this time! 4th time's the charm :) so yes! to your palette idea lol I took the very messy/gross approach of pouring the products directly on my counter (then leaving it there for the next few days). kept forgetting and putting my forearm in it and it was just really unpleasant. tiny little containers makes much more sense! funny you liked my results pre-fluff haha. I've never tried using a pick before, you think I could do that instead of separating? interesting. I think there's a pick somewhere in my house, i'll have to try that out!

haha thank you for the compliment! that style didn't last very long, hoping for better luck this week with my Melanin haircare braidout. have to wash my hair at my husband's parent's house so a bit stressed about that already. I can hardly imagine washing my hair at someone else's house, i'm going to have to pack up my entire bathroom!

For me for a braid out I do braid and twists, I don't even bother trying to find 3 equal size pieces. I braid down as far as I can go, and then I just twist the rest and fingercoil the total tip.
@UptightCurlsbyAmanda
@UptightCurlsbyAmanda 4 жыл бұрын
that makes so much sense!! and so simple. the borrowing from strands is what kills my process but if you just start to twist from there that makes sense and should do a better job of controlling the ends. thanks! I just can't with the perm rods. too much trouble. might as well throw in a full on roller set and a bantu knot while i'm at it! :)

@@UptightCurlsbyAmanda Exactly and I can't remember the last time I used any kind of roller, and I'm not interested in doing it right now. Maybe in the fall, but not in this summer heat!

I love your commentary. I'm not sure if you intend to be comical but you are. In regards to doing a braid out...I've been a serious natural for 2 years and I prefer braidouts over twistouts. I like the elongation of braids than twist. I've never braided with gloves which I think would be difficult. But you did a good job. Just keep practicing; you will get the hang of it.
@UptightCurlsbyAmanda
@UptightCurlsbyAmanda 4 жыл бұрын
haha it's funny you say that. No I never meant to be comical but I do keep getting this kind of feedback. Happy "mistake" I guess! Yea the final results weren't terrible. The hold was definitely not there, but I can't blame that on the braids themselves. I'm getting used to the gloves but they do in fact make many things difficult. My fingers are just way too sensitive to go without for too long. Thanks for the vote of confidence! I think i would prefer more of a cornrow (cornroll?) set, or the equivalent of flat twists, but with braids (not sure what that's called), but last time i did that, had me out here looking like Napolean Dynomite lol. how long does it take you to put in braids? DEFINITELY agree on the elongation. Immediately noticeable difference

@@UptightCurlsbyAmanda Tbh...I've never timed myself with braiding my hair. I think I will next time I do and will let you know. I just do it while watching TV. I do find it difficult in keeping my hair fresh throughout the week. Confession: I need a bigger bonnet. So I often rebraid my hair. Which in watching your video about your hair growth you said you stay out of your hair. It's still a huge learning process. I'm still dibbling and dabbling with different products to see what works for my hair.
@staceyparker6856

@@UptightCurlsbyAmanda Also...I have no clue how to cornrow braid. I just attempted my 1st flat twist last weekend. Only did 2. They turned out ok. I'm looking forward to seeing you do more styles. I just attempted a perm rod set lastnight...ummm...fail. It wasn't completely dry when I took them down and I didn't have time to go under the dryer.. Great thing about that though is...it's a cute curly puff on my head now.

it's crazy the things we accept with our hair! I remember when i was younger, my mother and sisters would drive into the city to get our hair done. you have breakfast, lunch and snack all while getting your hair down, and you get home for a late dinner. it's crazy! When i was transitioning I would LCO my hair and rebraid it EVERY NIGHT. it was a 1.5 hours process literally nightly. i can't mess with that stuff anymore. And I'll never believe "products" grow your hair, but there are definitely products that can work much much better in your hair. unfortunately my style hasn't been able to last this week and last. The Camille Rose products are great, but unfortunately not so much for my hair if I'm looking at longevity. one more week left! and perm rod set! lol i had my own fail. dry, matted mess. hoping Friday's attempt will at least give me something good enough for a thumbnail. not looking to diss these products (and it would not be the product's fault). complete opposite intention for this series!

I really tried to like the Honey Hydrate conditioner but I think it's to heavy for my hair. Then again maybe I didn't use it right. I don't know maybe one day I will try it again. The Latte is nice though...very nice so I would repurchase that. Never tried the oil but if I do I will definitely transfer it to a different container with a nozzle tip.

It’s definitely a fun product to like. The softening was amazing. I’m sad to report though that my hair is not holding up well throughout the week with these products. Moisture is good, competitive, but not among my top experiences. And I am getting no hold! So many people rave about the products though and it’s crazy how things work different in people’s hair! Keeps things interesting though 😎. Lol I’m always thinking I just didn’t do something right, but other than when to apply I guess, I feel like we just have to listen to what our hair is telling just lol. Latte was so terrible in my hair without the leave-in. Went on like curdled milk! But went on like butter as a second layer. So confusing. I’d definitely like to get through all of these products but I don’t think I’ll repurchase any just given the price tag and I can get same to better for less. Yea the oil was a disappointment. I actually really like it, but that spout is just terrible. I wonder how things like that get past product testing in a large company. This couldn’t have been human error. Something either pours properly or it doesn’t! Haha thanks for watching :)

I love the braidout better then the twist out 8 think it’s a good “chunky braidout.”

I'm coming around to that. It was sorta a fun, big style. unfortunately though it only lasted 1 whole day. knew that would be the case when i went to sleep. haha stayed up late Sunday night to do a recording because I KNEW it would be a ball of undefined fluff the next day. have to play around with the products. I'm impressed with the level of moisture, but can't seem to get that hold. one more week! let's see what I can do with the perm rod ;) lol I predict disaster but I'm open to the opposite

I really like the braid out look! I feel like once you get your technique down you can vary your style by intentionally using either chunky or smaller braids. It looks like though that it may not last because it is so soft and moisturized - maybe a little curl maker or almond jai on top can help? I'm so glad the honey hydrate worked for out for you! I ordered a cowash from the coconut custard line and the moisture deep conditioner from the Around the World Collection, so I'll let you know how I like them! Also, where is that quiz that you've been using on her website? I'm having a keener sense on which products work best for me and I'm curious to see if it matches up with their recommendations. Thanks! oh! and I saw that amla oil was on your list of Ayurvedic ingredients - Virgin amla oil is the first ingredient in the cocoa nibs and honey ultimate growth serum.

Thank you! I really did get used to it. But you nailed it. Way too soft and there was no hold. It was done by next day and day after that i had to put my hair up. Been a really long time since I’ve had to do that, I don’t do hair things mid-week anymore! Hah i also look terrible lol i can’t wait til wash day. At least when my per rod set comes out looking terrible maybe I can laugh about it because I have such low hopes. Yea I’m thinking for this week - Honey Hydrate (both sides), latte one side, almond Jai on the other, then follow up with the curl maker on both sides. And only apply the oil at takedown. Thinking/hoping that may be the holy grail layering. So excited to hear what you think about the around the world collection! Lemme see if i can find a link to that quiz. I visited the site like 6 times before i noticed it. I never actually trust those quizzes and so many answers are in between that I feel like they can’t really actually know my hair enough to tell me what i should put in it. I get the impression Ayurvedic herbs are more prevalent in hair growth serums and scalp oils and all of that. Makes sense. But i love them in wash day products. I recognize Amla from a bunch of the honey’s handmade products. I think the chocolate pudding mask is made with Amla as first ingredient

@UptightCurlsbyAmanda
@UptightCurlsbyAmanda 4 жыл бұрын
Lol certainly unconventional to do a COL method, but i like it! (If it works for you). The whole point of the oil though is to seal in the moisture and i feel like most of the moisture is in the leave-in. Do you get moisture from the latte going on first? That thing was like sandpaper in my hair without the honey
