If you have a empty design slot, put just a blank transparent design there. You can put that on the ground in any areas you don’t want fossils/rocks to spawn!

I completely agree with you! Don't beat yourself up over how your island looks after x amount of hours. Go at your own pace and just have fun. I just recently started terraforming and to start did the only thing right for ME: completely bulldoze the whole island to have a blank slate to work with. I still have areas I'm not happy with, but all this takes time and things will fall into place eventually.

I wish I could spend unlimited guilt-free hours on my island. I’m glad ACNH is designed to be a marathon not a sprint. I just paid thousands of bells just to get me and my residents moved to the same side of the island. I want to move the museum too. I had no idea when I first started out that it’s all about location location location. I’m slowly getting there. My island is at a 4 rating and I think I’ll be there for a while. I want my residents to have a neighbor garage sale. I have so much useless crap in my storage that I said Yard Sale!

Things that helped me get my 5-star island after sitting at 3/4-stars a while was making sure you have all the fruit planted, plenty of trees, a million flowers like you can never have enough in that game, keep picking up clumps of weeds and branches, keeping items placed or in inventory, don’t leave them dropped in the leaf form, and water your flowers everyday.

Another thing I have to do (3 times a day) is see what my villagers are crafting. I use the ACNH Guide app to track what recipes I'm still waiting for & it shows me my progress (I currently have around 320 out of 595 available recipes).

I set myself a lofty goal of getting every villagers framed photo.. I don't time travel and my island is just slowly being shaped one day limitation at a time. Also don't have a nintendo island, so I take my lumps on the stalk market. I only recently said farewell to two villagers, I have 7 framed photos though. Waiting on the next person to ask if they should leave or a new camper to come along.

Doesn't anyone here talk to Sable every day? She's distant at first since she's working, but over the course of a few weeks she'll start to warm up to you and appreciate that you take the time out of your day to say hi to her, even though she can't indulge in a proper conversation. Do it long enough and she starts to add fabric samples to your inventory that you can apply to furniture that has cloth on them that can be changed when you refurbish them.

One thing that helps me continue is getting everything I can get, like diys, fossils, and helping my friends also just to look at my island, play hide and seek with friends and making more restaurants, farms flower breeding areas

You do a hell of a lot of stuff for someone who’s ‘finished’. I go on like twice a week now. I have all the fossils so now I just ignore them, I have enough crafting materials to last me a while. Gifting to all your residents daily sounds insane. I’ve probably gifted to them all about twice max and they are all friendly enough 😂

To stop rocks/weeds from spawning where you don’t want them create a custom pattern that is solid fill with the blank pattern (stripes) and use that on the ground. Works with flowers as well to keep them contained/stop them from hybridizing or stopping weeds from growing in certain areas.

If you don't want those rocks to spawn there make 2 3x3 spaces for them to spawn in and put an object in those free spaces in your bar so next time they spawn they should spawn in the places you made for them (assuming there aren't any other free spaces on your island)

If you use a flimsy axe you can get 3 pieces of wood from each tree on your island without chopping them down

You actually gained more friendship points with Ankha giving you the surfboard as opposed to Francine giving you money. A villager doing a furniture or clothes trade with you for a gift you gave them will earn you bonus points on top of the gift you give them. Money means no bonus points were given for that exchange. If you want to give a villager a gift everyday but have nothing to show for your endeavors then give them a hanging terrarium. It’s a DIY that uses resources you probably have a ton of and you get the maximum amount of friendship points for it. Plus, they actually don’t display it in their house so you don’t ruin their decor. Just don’t over-spam because they only remember the latest 32 furniture items they have and will begin to misplace their oldest items that they came with to the point where their house looks really empty. Which can be useful if you actually really do want to remodel a villagers house. Albeit, time consuming.
