Bubba and D’Von didn’t originally want to hit them hard. But when Ron went over the match with them, they didn’t want Ron to think they didn’t know what they were doing and that they were so nervous (Ron was intimidating without even trying). So when Ron asks, ‘Now, you do know how to swing a 2x4 don’t you?’, Bubba panicked, said yes Sir (Even though he didn’t mean it), and started over-thinking it, thinking that he het let up too much they would think less of him.
