To my ears, the Fishman sounds more like an acoustic violin and the Kremona sounds more like an electric violin. The difference is remarkable.

I would love them to try the shadow pickup series.. I've used the SH 945 and it was quite good actually, now I'm gonna try another one just because the search for a proper amp system is eternal with violins haha, DPA is the way to go in my belief but way more expensive.

I had no idea! I was wanting to buy something for my acoustic violin, since I didn't like the sound of my electric one, but I didn't know how to choose or what kind of options I had. I think Provider's sound is so loyal to the acoustic sound. If I want a microphone, I'd choose that. "Realist" was the most accurate to me if you want to avoid any risk of that annoying high pitch sound known to occur with microphones when you get too close to the amplifier.

There's also Headway"s Band2. It pickups up from multiple sources from top of the arch and is tuned to cut excess treble. It's very good.

@@WilliamJohnston Hi William, Band2 has a better Pickup of upgraded Piezo material optimised for sensing vibration. It has a fuller, more detailed and natural tone, slightly stronger. Headway will do repairs or part exchange of it's gear

It would have been interesting to turn up the volume on the amp to see which one is the most feedback-resistant. That's always been my biggest problem when playing with a loud band.

You're going to need a wireless system that has a battery powered transmitter and a battery powered receiver - unless you have a power outlet on the street.

Sorry for my negative comments. Firstly, I'm impressed by your violin playing and your instrument too. Stephan Grappelli never used a pickup and achieved an amazing sound. My RSA by definition, provides a TRUVOICE. and I thought about changing but so far my ears don't tell me any of them are an improvement. Also, I don't like the idea of poking around with the bridge or screw to the body of the fiddle. I use an AER acoustic amp too and I do get approached sometimes about how natural the sound is.

hi, first of all: thank you for the video. I'm just wondering, when you demonstrate the Kremona pu, it looks totally different (it's the 2nd one, I guess), the the one on the setup video. Is that the cheaper one? And second question: I don't really find it in our stores, but I see a Gewa pu, what looks identical, only the name is different. Is this the same pu? Thank you!

As nobody answered Ill do it. Yes the GEWA is the exact same pickup. It even says KNA on the package. I really like that one (am using a cello VC-1)

Headway's The Band2 has a Viola model. The Violin Band2 will just about fit viola.

Any amp you want. Each one is going to sound different. Fishman Loudbox amps are pretty popular.

Imho, don’t use a guitar amp they are harsh. Use a keyboard amp or just good quality powered speakers.
