No problem, we're glad they're helpful! For the MIDI controller drum mapping, check out the Omni Sampler! You can load sounds directly onto the pads that also list the note/trigger. As long as you place them on the proper pads, you can use that to quickly build a drum kit that corresponds to your controller pads. A seemingly stupid question: I’m just learning the software and I did a basic drum track. However, it doesn’t show as a waveform...it shows as lines. But every video I’ve seen, there are waves...which I prefer. What am I doing wrong? There’s a setting everyone says needs to be checked, something about “midi writing,” and it is but still no waves.

Hey there! MIDI and audio are actually two entirely different things. To change the MIDI to audio, you can highlight your MIDI clip and go to Track > Mix To New Audio Track

Can you record an audio clip and then select it as a midi instrument? i.e. record “Lah” and then have the full range of the piano.
