45 here with a PPL and taking the leap into a career in aviation coming from a pretty comfortable job in finance. Finance just didnt inspire me anymore and I love to fly. You only live once!

I'm 53, 54 in October. I have 65 hours toward my PPL and want to switch to an airline career but fear age will hinder my chances.
@mojo76182 жыл бұрын
if you can get into the regionals in two years or so, you will have 10 years with the regionals, I am not sure how much you are making in your current job but financially you can easily make 6 figures in some regional airlines in 3-4 years, if finances are not an issue, then you will just enjoy your life and you can do whatever you want. Congratulations that you are passionate about this and wish you best of luck

41 years old in two months and 3 hours into my PPL flying of Zephryhills KZPH! When I was 17 I actually did ground school in Brazil, unfortunately didn’t have the money to fly. Now I have a comfortable office job at Amazon and jumping on this train! Thanks for the inspiration.

I am 36, cfi over 1000h. Soon 1500 and then big planes. And initial training was in IAA at KLAL. Sun&fun is awesome event for each and every pilot. And I was an international student. Keep going to my dream.

Thank you for the great topic. Could you please shoot a video for many 40+ guys on the best fast paths to cargo for ppl like us. We don’t have much time so we don’t need just to move fast. But to move in the right direction as well. Appreciate any feedback!
@AviationCareersPodcast11 ай бұрын
Absolutely, but remember this the best way to any job flying is building hours which can be done in many ways.
@ivanguzenko749111 ай бұрын
@@AviationCareersPodcast quick question Sir. Do you think flying single engine 152 might be actually a valuable hour building (if it is ifr equipped and I do approaches)? Cause I thought only multi and “working hours” like CFI really matter.
@jaxav8r2 жыл бұрын
I think one of the BEST suggestions you could've offered to the guy was to advise him to go to an accelerated program (like ATP academy) for his remaining ratings...or somewhere similar where you acquire all ratings -- PPL to MEII- -- in 3 months (ish)
@AviationCareersPodcast2 жыл бұрын
Choosing an accelerated program can be a good option depending on the persons personal and financial situation. It is best to take a more holistic approach when choosing the best training option. That is what we discuss during our career coaching sessions to determine what the best path is for each individual. To find out more visit: www.aviationcareerspodcast.com/coaching/

It’s a “recession”? Well, the Whitehouse press briefing said “not a recession” …they would lie would they?
@mojo76182 жыл бұрын
This video was on oct 2020 in the middle of the pandemic high unemployment, now unemployment is under 3%, there was not a time in history that a recession has came with such a low unemployment rate. But there is an economic stagnation and its here to stay for a while due to the amount of money they printed during covid.

I don't know why it might be easier to get an air cargo job . I would say a chance of getting into Fedex would be very slim. It's what most guys shoot for but good luck. Cargo doesn't mean less qualified, the very often fly at max. weight. Did you check out the purple runway program.
@AviationCareersPodcast Жыл бұрын
There are many types of cargo jobs. Some are flying small single engine aircraft and others are flying large jets. The larger the plane and especially the larger the compensation the more competitive it is to get hired. The purple runway program along with other pathways to the jets are good programs for many pilots.
