The original was one of the first I fell in love with, so it carries major nostalgia/scent memories. While I’m willing to keep an open mind of the 2024 version…I feel it’s likely just a cash grab reformulation. Luckily I have 300ml of the OG which should last 10 lifetimes 😂

Calone can make my temples twinge, and I've tried a number of them. Polo Blue does give me a slight headache, and the original ADG EDT did also many years back. The newer ones don't. ADG EDP is smoother. It's kind of funny. Your ADGs are like mine. Cellophane intact. I have a bottle of Horizon by Guy Laroche I got really cheap. It's from the distributor Cosmair too. It's not bad. For the price, it's actually decent. ADG Ezzenza. Will check it out.

Cheers Marc ,heard about this new version 2 days after ordering a bottle of The older Version lol 😂,yeah I was confused at first ,however I hear the one you have now ,lasts a little longer is more citrus focused and less mineral , more lighter and airy , not having sniffed this new version I cannot be certain but it has been said on the forums.cheers buddy have a good one 🙏✌️👍

Haven't tried this version, but overall I'd say the entire line is ~85% similar, and I'm not sure the minor differences are worth owning more than one or two unless you're a collector, or just love the line. Basically try them all, pick your favorite one or two, and keep it moving. I do like the basic idea, but there's a lot of redundancy.

Giardino Benessere Salaria (GB is a sister brand of Tiziana Terenzi) is a fantastic marine scent. Also around 110 $ on their official site, a bargain for niche! I love it. AdG for me, like the OG Issey Miyake and the Fraiche flanker, are watery scents, not marine. And I agree, Profumo is just a greener and less floral, less citrusy OG, not an incense/patchouli scent. @@euanlindsay2562 A few of my friends have the new one (100 ml) and they say it is much better. It's more like good old Profumo. Attention ! Not all stores have new stock. And the ladies in the stores don't really see what the difference is between both versions. You have to be careful when purchasing so as not to buy an old version.

Thankfully ADG is an easy fragrance to clone. I buy Lisboa by Zara instead of the overpriced and watered down ADG.

I got a 200ml bottle of Profondo EDT for 1/3rd of the price they were asking for a 125 mil of Profumo.. so it was a good deal through and through, and while generic, the scent is a easy to spray whenever when you are just going out and don't care much what you put on. But if i ever run out of it, i will not be looking for a replacement bottle.

I’ve found most adg’s smell better in the air but worse up close. I bought the original Profundo and the edp at the same time. Eventually I sold the edp and have actually grown to like this one over time

Original profondo is better imo, just a modern version of ADG with more green and mineral/metallic aspects. Nothing groundbreaking but a solid 7/8 in my book and performance is decent too

the profundo lights is better. It is more more uplifting and brighter and very versatile. Yeah it smells familiar to alot of other things but it stands oui in the profundo line. to me it is a trick of all trades like a swiss army knife. I;m just bummed out that they did discontinue it im half way on my second bottle and have a third. I use it very sparingly these days

When this refillable bottle fad inevitably dies, people are going to have a bunch of these bottles lying around and they will become curiosities. I'm not big on Profondo because of the mandarin note. I have grown to appreciate Profumo more and more. The patch and incense really add a dark backdrop to the citrus and aquatic notes that works. It is in there. I can smell the dark and slightly earthy notes behind the citrus. I don't wear Profumo often because I have a lot of niche. I grew to appreciate it for what its great for. Working extremely well around other people. It is balanced and elegant. Maybe not exciting but thats not what its for. It's not oversweetened and its understated. I dislike the new Parfum. Not a fan.

@@robes08 It isn't like the patchouli we normally smell and its in the background. Behind the citrus there is a darkness. It isn't dominant or chocolate cakey or medicinal or dusty. It's ever so slightly earthy and dark and round and combined with the incense is perceived as a darkness in the background. I'm talking about Profumo. Parfum is missing the same level of darkness and adds a green note. Clary sage most likely. I smelled it once and looked at the price and put it down. It's not the same. I have the old Mag cap Profumo. People say it smells different to the non mag cap version. I can't comment as I haven't smelled the non mag cap Profumo.

I found the original pretty weak and not much different than many aquatics I have although Fragrantica calls it an aromatic fougere. Most are saying the performance on this is much better than the previous formulation. I've never been a huge fan of aquatics although as I've gotten older, I see their value on hot summer days. Could you do me a favor and list the FIL FORMULA code on the last line of the ingredients on the back of the box. FIL stands for Fragrance Ingredients List. On the original release it was B243142/1. I'm also curious to know what letter L'Oreal is now using for 2024. The third letter of the batch code is the year. S = 2019, T=2020, U=2021, V was skipped, W=2022 and X=2023.
