Alex, you are too kind 🥇 They’ve been waiting for a free job. I more than appreciate how some circumstances are life changing thereby reducing capability to cope with gardening - but this garden has obviously been neglected for several years and there is absolutely no excuse to have continually thrown broken stuff and rubbish outside, front or back, to make the situation worse. (pity the neighbours).

You've already made a big difference! It's such a shame how the yard had been basically turned into a tip. I love to daydream what could be done! I'd waterblast the paving, set up a nice little table and a couple of chairs, plant a couple of big pots with beautiful flowers after the winter is done, maybe hang some baskets from the fence full of flowers. I don't like those big, tall trees. They cut off so much light, but I guess they'd be expensive to remove. It looks so pretty where the fence is damaged/on a lean and the morning sunlight is streaming through! Maybe they could be trimmed down. If more light could get into the backyard some grass could grow and she'd have a nice green lawn. It would do her health good to get out in the garden and do a few things.

Looking at the fact rubbish strewn around everywhere there's something else going on. Helping people who genuinely have no-one else to help them is one thing but when they do but just leave it anyway is another. I litter pick/clear serious piles of rubbish and the worst messes we have to deal with are not from homes where there's someone perhaps elderly and genuinely can't do stuff and are on their own and have no help. The worst offenders for messes chucked over fences like the backyard you cleared in this video are people who are quite able to deal with it but would rather fly tip it over their back fences
