Thank you for your kind words. This model is a bit old now, but the ideas are still valid. We are glad to hear of your cultural reconstructions; we trust yours has provided some educational insight for local students. The Learning Sites Team

Thanks for watching our videos. We assume you are talking about all the columns surrounding and fronting the ancient Greek buildings (also used by the ancient Romans, and other cultures). That's a huge question and certainly makes ancient Greek buildings stand apart from ancient Egyptian or Near Eastern structures. We suppose it was partly an aesthetic choice, partly due to the climate, and partly due to their use of wooden columns on buildings that predated their stone construction practices. Wood was common in Greece, and using wooden posts for houses and other early structures seemed to naturally lead to copying those methods when they turned to stone techniques. Great question. Greece certainly should reconstruct their ancient ruins, not so much as active working temples, but for the tourist value of seeing things how they once were... living museums reconstructed and of course with gift shops, resturaunts, and other attractions added to draw visitors and promote their unique and ancient culture.

@@learningsites That's strange, the erechteion was only finished in 406BC and can be seen here. But the Brauroneion was finished in 430 BC but is missing here. This contradicts: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYWakKKfbp1omsk Which is right?
