Thank you. I have learned more in the few minutes of your video than in all the other folks telling me how to do a pour painting. Simple basic language, explaining how and why it works and what it cannot do. I feel like I am almost ready to attempt a pour painting. My biggest issue now is a place to put my paintings to dry and cure so it doesn't get moved or shaken. Still working on this. I have been painting with acrylics for years and with little money to waste. Wasting paint always seems like a great loss but I am getting past this. Until next time, keep your videos coming and I subscribed to you tonight after you explained things to me. From Texas with great love and expectation...

For about two years now ,( and I wa any even sure why ) I’ve been MoFo-ing the trend , , what I believe is false popularity of Australian Floetrol , or even American Floetrol … I juuust ( finally ) learned of the Rayleigh-Taylor Instability theory today … like two hours ago… Let me tell you , reading everything g I could soak up and contiuing to watch videos referring to this theory have been a god send for me thst I’m beyond grateful for someone breaking it all down , and for everyone taking the time to explain the RT Instability theory !! Thank you so very MUCH!! This has helped my addiction of Acrylic pouring immensely , and I feel restored hope for humanity where far too many people with acrylic pouring tutorials are being mislead , therefore naively misinforming curious artists of all levels , and sadly , was to f a ton of peoples budgets as well as time . I mean, even some of these acryloc pouring housewives who appear to have a budget I can’t even imagine can’t genuinely want to waste so much time and money on ineffective prospects …. Right ?? Anyway… I’m very grateful for your time akd for you sharing these tips !! Priceless !! Your work you shared is also very impressive !!

Gee, fantastic, wonderful Gee..! I don’t think you can even IMAGINE how much this (and a bunch of other videos you’ve made) mean to me and probably a hole lot of other beginners!!! You have that perfect way of explaining things so that I understand everything a little better! You save me time, money and a lot of sleepless nights! Please don’t ever stop making these film for “dummies” such as myself! 😁 I do have one question though, I haven’t seen you talking about this. (Correct me if I’m wrong) It’s about Flotrol. You mention Flood Flotrol from Australia; makes a lot of cells and not good as a pm. But the American Flood Flotrol is good as a medium. I live in Sweden, and I haven’t been able to find ANY of these two, but instead a Flotrol made by Owatrol. It’s hard, but not impossible to get your hands on it here. -Do you have any experience from this Flotrol by Owatrol, and if so, can you tell me the difference? Ps One more little bonusquestion : if I use varnish as a pm, can I mix it the same ratio as I usually do with Flotrol? I mix my Owatrol Flotrol 2 parts F to 1 part paint, and so far I’m happy with the result. But if I use varnish instead, what difference’s can I expect? /Cattis
@GeePours2 жыл бұрын
Hello hello and thank you so much :) Long response coming up so bear with me: None of the floetrols are actually a cell additive. silicone will produce much more cells than any of the 3. the floetrols are technically paint conditioners, US and Owatrol for latex paint, while Aussie is meant for acrylic paint (because their housepaint is more acrylic than latex) HOWEVER, they can be used to produce cells in a cell activator when combined with paint and layered on the top. Owatrol I've been told is a little runnier than US floetrol. It's not good for use in a cell activator the way australian floetrol is, but is a perfectly fine pouring medium to use in acrylic pouring in general. if you dont have US or Aussie floetrol and want to make a CA, id say this paint and water recipe is probably the next best option for you. So far from what ive seen from people who have taken my classes, all the water based varnishes ive been seeing in US and Europe are thin like floetrol, but usually stickier due to the binding nature of varnish. Especially now in the summer all the materials are slightly runnier, id say the varnish would probably be quite close to owatrol/floetrol in consistency

Thank you. Very clear and helpful. I bought some Australian Floetrol which was very expensive with shipping to UK. I have mixed as suggested and no cells whatsoever. Any ideas please?
@rogerjames69562 жыл бұрын
Love your stuff man, I think you will find that house paint is not archival,wish it was, also if you look whats the make up of Floetrol its basically pva varnish and acitone, and water. I think the aussie one has the acetone in it so cells. stay safe young man.

Thank you so much for clearing some foggy-ness with regard to “Which Product to use” much appreciated. The best explanation I have come across. You’re great. I have many mica powders, are these able to be mixed with paint or floetrol? 💞
@GeePours2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for saying that Raine! So Micas are best used by mixing them with a varnish or retail pouring medium first to get the powder uniformly wet, then mix in base paint or semi transparent paint. I wouldnt use floetrol with micas because floetrol has a very dull matte finish which dulls out the shimmering effect of mica powder

Great information Gee as usual! I have a question tho. If flo doesn’t have any binders what do you suggest adding to my flo and paint as a binder ?
@GeePours2 жыл бұрын
Your paints already have binders in them. You can add more through things like gloss gel, or retail pouring medium
@pJo29732 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The terms are more confusing than traditional oils or acrylic painting. It can drive you crazy because some interchange words dealing with base as in flow extenders.
