Thanks for the review! I excited to get molded next week for a pair of 27db ACS custom plugs for protection in an industrial environment. Years ago I did some sound engineering and wish I had custom plugs back then like this...

how are they? did you like them and what did you use them for? I need ear plugs for studying, do you think they would work?
@danieldoherty10632 жыл бұрын
@@percy9228 i use them for gigs, and concerts. You can still hear everything but at a lower volume. If you are looking something to completely kill sound i wouldnt recommend them as thats not what theyre for. If you need something to lessen the noise and volume 100% recommend

@@danieldoherty1063 thanks so much for replying so quick, I was wondering if I got the highest level of protection ones, ones rated for 30, then they might be good? but I guess you are right, they won't completely kill the sound

Superb Review. What’s the name of the festival you went too?

God it was so long ago, but if I had to guess probably Global Gathering or Reading Festival

did these take any time to adjust to for you? ie were they uncomfy at first but then felt better after time?

Is the sound quality better than Shure SE535, apparently i need to wait 45 days to receive them. Also is the wire thick or flimsy Thank you.

Do you need to push them in too often?
@codename_eve4 жыл бұрын
They pretty much stay in, I only used to take one out when listening / chatting with someone.
@Trace6x8 жыл бұрын
You mentioned them needing to be pushed back in when you close one eye, my problem is I'm constantly moving singing etc when I'm performing so I'm pushing my plugs back in for a better seal every 30 seconds. I'm wondering if these custom plugs would be any better but you said about having to push them back in when you close an eye? I think I have crazy control over my ears or something lol
@codename_eve8 жыл бұрын
I actually don't have this issue anymore with them, I think it's just when you're breaking them in. I've had mine about 2 years now & they're perfect.
@KCameronJ5 жыл бұрын
If you’re a singer then when getting the custom moulds done they should give you a bite block, which keeps your mouth slightly open during the moulding process. The shape of your ear canal changes when you open your mouth - this is why your plugs keep breaking the seal, causing you to keep adjusting them!

I just wanted to check you realise that the red one goes in the right ear and the blue goes in the left. You say the opposite at about 7:50 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXuYgZqYl6aNl7sm50s but it says the right way round as the first sentence of the little book they send you.

Nene Yeah I must have just said it the wrong way round and not realised :)

Hey, great video! Was just wondering whether you just walk into boots and be like "yo acs earplugs please" or if you need to order them online to then get the mold done in store? Also, is there any other brand that you can recommend because £140-ish pounds is a lot of money :) Thanks! (need earplugs for my drumming)
@codename_eve10 жыл бұрын
Rohan Hipwell No you have to order them online at ACS Custom's website and they will send you a voucher for your impressions, which you then take into a local boots store. For custom plugs not really, that's generally the 'going rate', but they are definitely worth the spend over bog standard ear plugs. Seeing as you're a drummer it might be worth looking into in-ear monitors (they might be a bit more expensive, I know Shure are) but that way you can be drumming and have the track or a click track playing through them, to aid your drumming.

Eve Bickley i live in sweden, can i still get these?
@Diedrich929 жыл бұрын
Rohan Hipwell hey rohan, you can make your own custom earplugs for like 10-20 dollars. Radians custom earplug mold are the most common it seems, but there are a lot of different brands. Tutorials for how to do it is on utube. see here for more alternatives: www.earplugstore.com/custom-diy-ear-plugs.html you can use these for earphones too.

+Rohan Hipwell If you go to www.bootshearingcareshop.com/PRODUCT/ACS_PRO17_HEARING_PROTECTOR_PAIR you can ring them to book an appointment for impressions. They then send these off to ACS then contact you when they're done.

Eve Eyre: I bought a pair in August for motorcycling. Yes sound deadening is very effective, but they are the devil to get out of your ears when you’re parked up. If you have any guidance let me know, but in under 13 minutes 🤓🤓🤓
