Agreed 100%…I’m still stumped why she isn’t known more. I have tried to compare other live performances, but I can’t find a comparison.., Pink, perhaps a close second, but I’m still looking.. Lara is just incredible at her live performances, period…boom, magnificent. I haven’t been disappointed with any live performances I’ve seen on KZbin. Instead contrary, more in awe..literally chills, mouth open etc. I have never heard a voice so clear more angelic, magical than Lara’s’. Ms. Streisand on some of her songs a close second, but that’s it. For me, Lara is THE performer of all time! I’m a music lover of all kinds of music, and I’m well over 60..I’ve heard quite a bit of music being my upbringing in Europe..yes, she’s magical. 🥰👏👏👏👏🥰👌

"Tout" was the very first song I've heard from Lara, which from there, has had made her be known and start to make her popular. Ever since then, I'm literally in love with Lara. At her start, a lot of people compared her to Celine Dion, saying that she copying her, etc... No no no, Lara Fabian, is nothing like Celine, she is "tout simplement Lara" simply Lara. I love her, not only because she have a great, magnificent voice when singing, but she is someone so rarely found in artist, simple/humble, so down to earth, someone, one would love to spend time and have a lovely conversation with, the tone of her voice, when talking, is so calm and soothing
@gertdekeuster8840 Жыл бұрын
Celine Dion and Maria Carey are just singers, nothing more. Lara is from another leven, far and far more higher, she is a performer, storyteller and i am out of adjectifs to desoriëntatie her personality. Forgive me for beeing subjectieve. I rest my case.

French girl here, you pronounced her name and the title perfectly 😊 And the little neck move she makes is when the lyrics go " we told ourselves "we don't care" (little move at "we don't care"), we have the universe just to ourselves " which shows that they were young and fearless and had the arrogance young people can have at the beginning of their relationship, which then goes South. It's like a " I dare you to challenge us" kind of look. LOVE IT. Lara is amazing ❤

Hi again Dad ! I just wanted to share with you my perspective of what is going on with Lara's body expressions and the mannerism she does here in a relatively slow tempo song. I've been playing percussion and drums since I was 11 years old and now at 60, I can tell you that Lara is using her whole body to keep the rhythm in the pocket. Those moves are accentuations of the words she wants to put emphasis on , like the '' on-s'en-FOU... '' / ''we don't CARE'' head noding at 6:45. Same at 9:53 and 9:58 ( '' tu-n'as-plus-rien - à - cirrer-...'') Those are 1/8 notes that demands accents ( for the weight of the words ) and that are helping her to keep time but with passion. Lara said in another interview that she learned the hard way (when she started singing in clubs where nobody cared for her performance) that she had to master the art of dynamics to make shure the audience had her attention. Have a look at your ADAGIO reaction... I left a comment about her rhythm flawlesness. Thanks !

Two physical things I notice in every video I watch whether it's a live performance or the official video. The first is, and this will sound odd, but she's beautiful with an open mouth. People will notice how open her mouth gets, how relaxed her jaw is and all of that technical stuff which, yes, is true. But most people don't look that good with a wide open mouth. She does. It's a weird thing to notice but there you have it. The second, and I guess this only applies to live performances, but her mic hand never carries any tension. She has a firm hold of it but she doesn't grip it. Even in the most emotional, tension filled parts of a song that hand stays tension-free though her other hand might be shaking or in a fist or splayed wide. It's like her body knows that it needs to keep tension out of her jaw and if she's holding a mic, to keep that hand loose, too. It's quite remarkable, I think. Anyway, those are two things I've noticed for ages and haven't heard anyone else comment on. I realized it might just be me, or it might be one of those things others have noticed but they aren't really "things we talk about" and just need someone else to mention it first. So, is it just me?

Chibougamau, is about 500Km NORTH of Quebec city, by way of Lac St-Jean. I went there one winter with NO heating in our truck after about 1/2 the ride from my home in St-Felicien, Lac St-Jean. It was MISERABLE!!! It's pretty much Cree territory and the beginning of the James Bay Hydro region. It's also got a record low temp of -45.9F (before the wind chill factor)...It's mostly a mining operation and the hub for the regional services of NORD du Quebec. Its main festival is a snowmobile rally... So it kind of gives you a general idea of the place. A fishing and hunting and outdoor paradise. IF you don't mind Toonie-sized mosquitoes and horseflies for 1/2 of the summer AND wearing LOTS of extra clothes to go take a walk for 4-5 months of the year. It's a very nice place to visit though. And its 2016 census is almost 8000 people (7600).

When you said there was some angst at first, she'd just sung that Everything (tout) was finished between them, that she didn't have the strength at all (du tout) to believe in it, or hope anymore... "Tout" can be both... All or Everything (and more, but let's not go there) "Tous" is Everyone. And the S is not always pronounced. "Toux" is a cough... Without the X being pronounced in any way... They all SOUND the same. So many homonyms in French. It's all about context when you aren't reading it, but just hearing it.
