I really like your reactions to Lara's performances. You asked a question about how many times can you be awed by someone until you'll stop being awed. Well, it was 1994 when I first saw Lara performing 'Je Suis Malade' live on a Canadian talk show. I was a 24 years old trained choir and back-up singer and Lara gave me a shock of a lifetime that morning. I was so spellbound, so floored by her performance that by the end of the song I was gasping for air like I was the one who just poured her despair out to the world. Tears were running down on my face and when my friend entered the living room she was shocked to see me in that state. Until that morning I was convinced that besides my three idols, (Barbra Streisand, Edit Piaf and Maria Callas) nobody could could move me only with a single song, that nobody could ever reach their level. On that morning my world is shifted and I became Lara's devoted fan. 26 years passed by and I have seen her perform countless times. Still, I didn't reach the point when I stopped being awed by her. Album after album, concert after concert, song after song, year after year Lara keeps me spellbound. I've been fortunate to see her live 10 times in the last 26 years. The last occasion was back in 2015 here in NYC. She was a guest performer of Maestro Igor Krutoy's concert. She was absolutely phenomenal. I was floored again as always. Because of COVID-19 Lara had to cut short of her 50th birthday celebration tour so I missed out on that one, but she'll be touring again next summer, so I'm hoping to see her again. So, my answer to your question is when it comes to Lara there is no "getting used to her voice", there is no stopping being awed by her performances. Both as an artist and as a human being, Lara is one the most incredible people who comes along only once in a millennia.

I love this answer. How fortunate you are to have heard her so early on and to have been able to see her live 10 times (and more to come). And how fortunate we all are to be alive at the same time as she is, and at a time when KZbin makes it possible to enjoy her recorded performances (still incredibly powerful but undoubtedly a muted experience compared to that of the audience in front of her). I know there seems to be someone in every generation who people tout as the best but I have yet to find a person who does not recognize her mastery as a vocalist and performer. They might not be a fan of the type of music she sings but it doesn't mean they don't recognize the wonder that she is. When we are all gone, when all that is left of Lara are the recordings, the videos, and the stories there will still be students who are told to watch he, there will still be people of all ages discovering her music. And all of them will see her and know they are watching greatness and a great many will wish they had been alive to be able to see her performing live.

Nothing to be ashamed, I have watched her concerts times and times again, still getting cold chills and goosebumps as soon as I hear her performing. Also, this concert is one of many gems in my book, because she looked so gorgeous that night, and she slayed all her vocals. But this specific song is in a league of its own during that show. It starts so softly and yet ends up so powerfully, while being on a sad-ish note. And the last note, I mean, that’s beautiful objectively.

I have watched possibly hundreds of reactions of most of Lara’s songs, purely due to the sheer effect her songs and performances have had on me since I discovered her a couple of years ago. Your reaction somehow was the one that resonates with me the most and I thank you for that. You have managed to express the awe and wonder that keeps flooring me every time I see and listen to her. And the “there she is” in the end as soon as she gets out of character and smiles, is like falling in love and suddenly realising it. Same here, man, same here…

Wow, thanks! I'm glad my reaction to her music resonates with you. I actually get comments like this a lot and I honestly don't think I do anything special. I just think that Lara is an artist that taps into something incredibly personal and sincere within herself and when it comes to doing these videos, the only way I know how to be is completely myself. To try and open up and let anyone watching see on the outside as close a representation as possible of what's happening on the inside. It's because of this that comments like yours mean so much to me. It's like you're reaffirming that I'm not alone in how I feel and that you and so many others were right there with me, sharing in that experience. So, again, thank you.

Too many words dear Brandon. You just have to admitt you are in desperate love with her as a human being and as a woman. And I tottaly agree with you because especially around 30 she was an absolutely irresistible girl. Don't get me wrong, when I say love I mean its most innocent version. I mean our panic and urge to become something valuable to worth someone else even if we are the most remarkable human being in the world. I absolutely adore you when you often loose control and stop looking at her for too long on the monitor. Please don't be ashamed, desperate love is a wonderful thing. Hugs. Greece

Hi.. Many singers cover Mrs Lara Fabian songs, but no one dares to cover You're not from here... I wonder why?🙄😅.. There's a easy answer... Because it's so hard to sing, at least so hard to match what Mrs Lara Fabian did. A beautiful lyric deserve a gorgeous voice... And that what this is. This is a good example of the time Mrs Lara Fabian "forgets to breathe" and leaves me breathless. Take care. Greetings from Portugal.

Hello. Thank you for your sincere reaction. This song is actually amazing: the Lyrics are very touching. Unfortunately, her French songs are not as famous as they should be: eventhough she can write in many languages, her French songs contains the most subtle and touching meanings. They lyrics she writes are often as good as her amazing voice. She always has control when she sings. She does things vocally that most people don't and cant' do. The song is soft, it gets more and more intense. The ending is unbelievable. I fell in love with this song as part of the music playing, and I fell hard. It turned out to be a nightmare. I couldn't let go of this music, and I realized at some point that if I kept listening to her that it would either kill me or heal me. I got through it...

the Song what she heard with 5 years in the car was "Le matin sur la rivière" by Eve Brenner. Its a old song from the 70s but very good.

She understands the emotions behind the song, she commits to allowing those emotions to emerge from within her own spirit and shares them with us honestly, she lets us in, she is accessible. She has deep empathy for truth of life, her heart is huge and she generously gives of it. We are fortunate because she means for each of us to keep some of for ourselves, to add to the love that we have to give. so that we have a little extra to share with another, and another. So much we gain from these simple honest moments… Thanks Lara

I came across this young lady whilst searching for another artist singing a song entitled Adagio. A marvel manifest. This is my favourite song. So pure. An unbridled journey of depth and emotion. And you, sir. Your reaction. So naked, so exposed. An unashamed display utter surrender, allowing yourself to feel so deeply. Thank you for sharing. Hugs from Yorkshire, UK.

I liked your reactions to one of my idols, Lara Fabian... the same thing happens to you as it does to me, because I'm sure I'm not surprised and suddenly something about what she does jumps out at me and I fall flat at her feet. It's incredible how she interprets, she not only sings, she INTERPRETS. She makes the songs her own, even those she has not composed, such as Lucio Dalla's Caruso. He is incredible and continues to teach how to interpret every time he appears on stage.

I remember when this came out a friend had it in her car. I couldnt drive. I had to pull over. Hit me just as hard now. ty for taking time to review a bunch of her music/artwork : Revisit days later... going through the videos on youtube, every time i keep playing these over and feel like im getting punched in the chest by a gorilla. My mouth hangs open, my heart whats left of it after decades is just literally saying everytime i hear one of your songs another piece of me fades and i dont care. with all the bad in the world, and dealing with so many issues with anxiety, depression, and not knowing how i make it through some days, music is the great equalizer. We are in a blessed yet jagged time in which we can rediscover and on the other hand can watch it slip right through our fingers like sand. Some of these songs of her, good grief its like heaven and the very core of the earth open up and right in the middle of them meeting is Lara... from the voice to the emotion, it means nothing, but means everything that you have comments turned on. i wish you all good going forward with your channel.
