Then we'd try to explain would kind of bullet would do that to a chest, then we realized that it must have been Jackson's own aura of badassness that fueled the bullet to rail gun velocity. Fun fact for you Cecil; After this film, Baxley and Silver were supposed to do an action sci-fi buddy comedy titled Man To Man, which would have been about repo man who picks up alien who's hitchhiking in Nevada desert and two of them then go on a search for his spaceship. It was written by writer of Tango & Cash and Baxley, and originally Schwarzenegger was going to star in it but then they went with Dolph Lundgren. But despite spending few million on pre-production and everything already set to start filming in Las Vegas, Silver and Baxley got into some arguments which lead to film being cancelled.

I adore this channel, because so often it covers movies I long thought only *I* loved or even knew about. Every week my brother and I rented "10 for $10" VHS movies and discovered some amazing (and terrible!) stuff; films that have *huge* nostalgia for me that almost nobody else seems to have heard of. So many of those not only turn up on this channel, but are loved by someone other than me! Also, my favorite genre is post apocalypse and "space slasher" movies... and this channel is a goldmine for those! How many other people review things like Stryker?! :) Finally... you have awesome taste. The movies covered here that I've never seen I promptly look up and I've loved almost every one I've subsequently watched. Because - unlike all the other straight-to-video stuff - Full Moon didn't seem to release in Australia, you actually introduced me to their library (even though I'd seen stuff like Trancers, etc.) for which I'm extra grateful (I'm about halfway through their catalog now, I think)! :)

One of my favourite 80s movies, and a shame it didn't do better at the box office as this could have been the start of a great franchise for Carl Weathers. Great work as always, Cecil.

Thanks for reviewing this one I *LOVE* this movie, and was always irked that it never managed to get a sequel. It's a woefully underrated action film.

My favorite GoodBadFlicks episode in a long time. I love your 80's action movie reviews. You are hilarious and a great narrator. You are hands down my favorite critic. 1:57 "I hope it's not this guy" LOL.

Okay, so, check this out: Thomas F. Wilson's character worked his way up through the Detroit PD, finally achieving the rank of Detective. After an unfortunate incident, he was then transferred to East L.A.'s Narcotics division, where he was partnered with a young, hot headed, Marine by the name of Paco Aguilar. So, yeah, Blood In Blood Out: Bound By Honor is technically a sequel to Action Jackson. Maybe not the sequel we wanted, but a sequel nonetheless.

Watching this now on HBO MAX! Its good 80's over the top actioner. I would have loved to have seen a Jackson Cobra team up where Weathers and Stallone reunite.

There are a quite a few Lethal Weapon actors in this, apparently. They picked from quite the well of films for this casting.

(13:39) I remember in the I Come in Peace review you mentioned that they could NEVER do what they did with those explosions in today's movies. They were SPECTACULAR. CGI has a hard time beating a real honest to goodness pyrotechnic explosion the size of the ones they did. ;)
