It is not lost on me how the players are elevating Harry’s already brilliant world building. Everything seems 3 dimensional and important even when it isn’t “big”. Kudos. I truly love this world and these characters. I hope you all know this is a bright spot for at least one person in a very bleak time and I thank you.

Alex is a wonderful actor and Harry is an outstanding DM. The scene with I and Quincy was genuinely delightful in every way.

I think Harry did an amazing job in describing the hug. It really felt like the most natural description and I loved it. Despite the fact, that many people like romances and shipping characters, your group has such a perfect dynamic, like a really loving-but-bit-disfunctional family, that it seems completely unnecessary in your case. Your characters are perfect as they are, slowly learning to trust each other and growing closer to each other in the right way. Thank you for your insights in the episode again and wish you all a very lovely day.

A great look at what this amazing episode was like at the table and the prep that went into it. Some very interesting additional bits of gnome and kobold lore as well.
@dexterpearson8689Ай бұрын
Yes, indeed. It makes me wonder three things: 1) The moments I and Quincy shared - will that encourage him become more understanding about gnomes and the world around him? 2) Are Quincy and I destined to become life-long friends? [They still have my support. I also think Quincy's become essential to this tribe.] 3) When I reconnects with his lost tribe, how will I's adventures and experiences shape or influence them? The date part is also telling about life. URAL - Understand, Respect, Accept, Love. The more I - the character, not the me - learned about gnomes from Quincy, the more he understood gnomes and gained a better appreciation for her. That appreciation can be turned into respect toward other gnomes while managing the generational teachings from his tribe. The more I encounters and interacts with other gnomes, the more likely he could accept gnomes. Maybe in the future, Quincy and I can love each other as a couple, based on their definition of love. It can't be denied at that point, however, that I could show love toward gnomes, thus changing attitudes and previous beliefs. Curious, yes?

Commenting for the algo, and, of course, for really enjoying Natural Six! Ep 17 was such a rollercoaster of an episode and really one of the best yet too! Great to see to thoughts of everyone after in Action Surge as well. So good!

Jacksey Flaxseed has gotta be the most badass adventurer pulled from the deck so far. Would be hilarious to hear his lore, his backstory and what led to his ultimate downfall in his life/adventures

23:11 awwwe this would've been so awesome, zombie radian. 33:19 so that's what it is! Kelnys always felt like the goofy but wise dad to me (which makes sense cuz he has a fk ton of wisdom). An uncle iroh type you could say. He seems silly and aloof but at the same time stoic and wise.

As a big fan of Oxventure and the whole OX crew, I am a bit bummed that Andy's character card got nixed so quickly
@NaturalSixАй бұрын
Andy and his card were AMAZING (and I wish we could have got more) but I sadly think it was either Erastus who was going to get nixed, or poor Raidion! - Hollie
@MorinehtarTheBlueАй бұрын
I absolutely agree it was either Erasmus or Radion. However the number being a replacement for dice value (like luck or portent) the second draw doesn't entirely feel good. So it's really a matter of whether you're willing to submit to the randomness of the whole process or you're going to hold on to the characters no matter what for the sake of the story.
@dexterpearson8689Ай бұрын
So very true. And yet, I'm wondering if we'll see Erastus reappear, even in another form? Also, Andy's definitely spreading his talent wings. He made his DM debut with Deadlands. He can add character creation & design to the mix. Has my appreciation and curiosity of what's next.

I do hope that Harry's planned for some way to renew the Deck - not that I'm complaining about how it went this session, but it would be cool to see these previous cards again.
@MorinehtarTheBlueАй бұрын
That and the fact that eventually the Deck will run out. Though the double pull just primes it for overlooking the first pull in such a sequence.
@NewAge374Ай бұрын
I used the assume the deck was just 20 cards, one for each possible d20 roll. But then he says here that some numbers are repeated, without giving away more info. If by episode 17 they've only drawn 3 cards, they might not run out till episode 100. That's in three years with this pace. I think it's fine to remove the cards (but make them available for paying fans to use in their own campaigns)

Here's the exact working for Careful Spell: "When you cast a spell that forces other creatures to make a saving throw, you can protect some of those creatures from the spell's full force. To do so, spend 1 sorcery point and choose a number of those creatures up to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). A chosen creature automatically succeeds on its saving throw against the spell, and it takes no damage if it would normally take half damage on a successful one." The Evoker for Wizards gain a very similar ability called sculpted spells at level 6 (2024). Take fireball - This is a spell where creatures take 8d6 fire damage on a failed Dex save and half on success. With careful spell or sculpted spell, chosen creatures take no damage. I wonder if Harry was thinking of Bard's magical secrets where at level 10, they can start dipping into the Wizard, Cleric, or Druid spell list. If Ben really wanted Flame Blade, he could always find a scroll with it one it and use the ability to spend time and money to copy it into his spell book.
@MorinehtarTheBlueАй бұрын
Harry may be confusing it with that bard ability but he also mentions a feat. It's called Magic Initiate. Unfortunately it can only get him a 1st level spell (Flame blade is 2nd) and two cantrips from a wide variety of spell lists. As for scribing a scroll technically he can't do that either. Unless Harry is willing to allow him some latitude with the scroll rules. If it isn't on your list you can't read it so that you wouldn't be able to cast or scribe the scroll. Many DMs allow it regardless but it isn't a functional work around based on a strict rules interpretation.
@NewAge374Ай бұрын
Good point, Raidion needs to find some scrolls to transcribe! He already wants at least one, so Harry can just toss it into some villain- backpack, or as random loot at the side of the road

Is there a chance this campaign will become a movie or series? It's all very theatrical, probably because you're all actors.
@shorttrekheroАй бұрын
I think it's a great compliment to the non-actors at the table that you think they're all actors, but, unless I'm very much mistaken, not all of them are. They've all embodied their characters at this table, that's for sure.
@davidhand9721Ай бұрын
I recognize Harry from Netflix and I'm told Doug is The Witcher, right? I've heard that Aoife is a professional DM or something, but I've been assuming everyone else is a Hollywood type by association. What do they actually do?
@shorttrekheroАй бұрын
"Hollywood type"? I'm sure they'll get a giggle out of that 😅 Far be it from me to pretend to know their full resumes, but Alex, Ben, Doug en Harry are indeed actors. Aoife and Hollie currently work for computer gaming companies (Larian and Square Enix, respectively) in roles that require interacting with an audience/the general public, but not acting, as far as I know.
