I still don't get the hype behind the ball drop, at all. I mean, the ball is lowered very slowly to the ground when it should drop in free fall motion.

It doesn’t go to the ground it is not high up on the pole. It is high up on the building there. So it can’t feee fall and those are all crystals on the ball, they would break!

It's always weird seeing how times square is a day before New Year's Eve but all in all a good video people got to be saving their seats and holding their spots 24 hours from now if I ever want to see the ball drop in times square again I'm checking into the nearest hotel a week before what a good window view while watching it on TV at the same time

What is the point of the ball drop...? It seems so weird... the ball should probably RISE if anything. But hey, I guess Americans can say their balls drop every year. I tried to find out, but it seems it doesn't symbolise anything... just someone on 1907 decide to "drop a ball" to commemorate NYE...!
