I loved the seahorses on the fountains:-) The beautiful water and boats, and the lively restaurants and the dogs! Some were so exotic it looked like a dog show:-)

When you live abroad like myself. To see other cities and communities with mixed cultures living daily life no matter the country is what makes the world unique . This city is exactly that as you pass each restaurant you hear the music 🎶 be it Latin it doesn't matter . It the people who take pride in their city and its gorgeous. Having lived there for 40+ years, I can attest to the crazy commercialization of the Las Olas strip, Miami Beach, Boca Raton, etc. They are really high end open air malls without the amenities of public seating. After eating a low par quality meal and drinking until your blind, you stumble back to your hotel. No museums, no quality symphony, no parks which are safe, mostly nasty transient people, brutally hot and humid most of the year...not N.Y.C.!!!

Ft. Lauderdale is more like the old Miami. Many of the folks down there moved up to FTL when the Cuban influx started in the 80s.

The only part of South Florida that I like, Ft. Lauderdale. Anything south of Ft. Lauderdale on the east coast sucks, except Key West. 🤨👉🏻Miami-Dade 👎🏻👎🏻
