When I lived in Los Angeles, we adopted a pregnant street cat. She was a beautiful Siamese with 6 toes. She had "thumbs". Many of her kittens also had that trait. We kept one. A black cat we named Gizmo. He lived 17yrs and was the best cat we ever had. He was a great hunter & fighter & we used to say it was because he had boxing gloves. 😂

Great tour of his house Kenneth!! The furniture is amazing and we’re cat lovers and had a polydactyl cat for 11 years as well. Thanks for this awesome tour!

THANK YOU, ACTIONKID for the wonderful tour of Hemingway’s house and his fabulous six-toed cats!!! I visited Key West many years ago and even wrote a novel about the house, the cats, and the hurricane they survived! It’s called “Hemingway’s Cats” by Lindsey Hooper (a pseudonym) and I watched many KZbin videos as part of my research, but yours is one of my all time favorites. Love how you captured the cats lounging in their home. So adorable. I live in NYC, and your walking tour videos of the city during COVID kept me going while I wrote the book. Sad you left NY but am loving your new Florida content. Bless you, ActionKid!

It's a treat to see Ernest Hemingway's home in Key West, and I felt I went back in time! 🤩 I'm glad they allow photography and filming, and you're also allowed to walk around freely throughout the house without having to be with a docent. 👍 Some historical home tours don't allow photography, and the docent must be present to proceed through the tour. I loved seeing all the cute cats on the property, especially the polydactyl cats since their paws resemble mittens! Good to know they're all well taken care of. 😻🐈 Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful historic house tour, AK! 🤗❤

Very nice walk this morning, AK. I got to the Live premier for the last 5 minutes so am enjoying the replay. The cats really have a nice life here, don't they? They have done a beautiful job here. What a great place to live. I absolutely love the home and all of the nice greenery, and of course, the cats too. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us. Great job

What a place, AK! Really perfect Florida structure. Love when homes are gracious in scale, but retain an intimacy and soulfulness simultaneously. Interesting and soulful man, for sure. FYI - when "treasure hunting" back on the mainland, you might want to check out .1 "Bonnet House," Fort lauderdale, and the famous "Morikami Japanese Garden" in Palm Beach county (west of Delray). Bonnet house is also an intact homestead-museum of a once bohemian-in-spirit, wealthy family. Beautiful property, beautiful home - interesting artifacts. Morikami is named after George Morikami who donated his farm to be used as a park. Also - beautiful place, full of Japanese spirit. Thank you as always.

Thanks for the video tour! Hemingway planted all those trees and shrubs back when he and his second wife Pauline moved in the house. The swimming pool was put in by Pauline at a cost of $20,000 in the later 1930s. If you look there is a dime plastered in the pool edge. The story goes Hemingway threw down a dime when he saw the pool, he didn't approve of the extravagance of the cost, and he said to Pauline "Here is my last dime!" Pauline took the coin and stuck it the the pools edge when the cement was still wet. That is how I remember the story when I heard it back 30 years ago!

Nice tour. When I went to key west I didn't want to pay that amount just to see an old house. I didn't know they had cats with 6 toes. I heard of the horses with 3 eyes at chernobyl, dogs with two tales at Fukushima but never heard of the cats of key west with 6 toes. How many fingers do they have?

Hi! How are you? The temperature in Korea/Seoul is now over 36 degrees Celsius. The summer weather in Korea is so humid that the actual wind chill temperature is much higher than that. It's already the weekend. I hope you have a healthy/pleasant weekend/holiday. Thank you. *^*

Check the pool again as the legend of hemmingway’s last penny is there. The story is hemmingway’s wife at the time and him were arguing mostly about his drinking which was common at the time and hemmingway divorced her right there but gave her his last penny. In retaliation she had the penny encased in lucite and had it embedded in the concrete near the pool with a plague saying I got his final penny. The house was hemmingway’s so it was simply her last word against him. The lucite is pretty worn and is scratched beyond belief but the story is still there and possibly the penny.

I heard the pool is where he had his beloved boxing ring . Pauline after hearing about a new girlfriend had it removed and sent to where Blur Heaven restaurant is today . Key West wouldn't allow the blasting the pool had to be dug by hand adding greatly to the cost because of rock . The house was a wedding gift from Paulines uncle. I believe she lived there the rest of her life .

You annoyed me during this visit to Ernest Hemingway's home because you broke away from the tour guide the ticket lady said the tour last for 15 minutes I'm sure your subscribers including myself would have appreciated the opportunity to listen to the tour guide. But you roamed around with your camera on your own looking at the contents of the home. None of us were allowed to hear the little details , the stories or the significance behind whatever the tour guide could tell us. I thought it was very disrespectful on your part to already be recording in a room ahead of the tour guide as he talked and lead the others into a room. As they walked in you went around the opposite way still not allowing us .....your subscribers the opportunity to hear and enjoy The Hemingway tour that's what the tour guide was there for to enlighten and inform us of little known facts or details about Ernest Hemingway and his home none of which we were allowed to hear. I hope you are aware that this was a golden opportunity for some of your subscribers to be in this historic place and enjoy it at the moment for we may never be there ever again because we live in different places all over the world some of us including myself will never get this tour like it was given ever again I feel cheated, I as well as others I'm sure was very interested in that short tour and whatever the tour guide could tell us, then once it was completed then you could have roamed around the premises as you wanted to showing us places the tour didn't cover, I just felt it was important to hear what the tour guide had to offer first. Then you had the audacity to say it was such a nice tour ??? You didn't even listen to the tour guide or follow the tour as it was given. How can you enter anyone 's home for the first time and give yourself a tour ??? Anyone knows you have to be given a tour by someone that is familiar with the home it's contents and back stories about the place , you don't just look over the place and assume you know about it. You have u were so interested in the cats and what they were doing but in all honesty it was about Ernest Hemingway the cats are there because of him they were a part of his life but he was the main attraction and should have been acknowledged as such not the cats because some of them had six toes and drank from wine glasses this is the first time I was ever annoyed watching one of your videos, I do watch your videos all the time even when I can't sleep at night, I love all your New York videos and I'm enjoying all your adventures all over Florida. But this video was upsetting I hope you understand why and please remember these videos are for your subscribers so please keep in mind when you take your subies on tour we want to hear what is being said ok.. later ✌🏾
