People will generally help you out in these situations if they can. This takes me back to the days when I first started travelling and budget travel was important (who knew bus travel would become expensive), great helpful video for people visiting the city who don't want to take another way to that airport.

This is really helpful! When I visited NYC, I flew Porter Airline from Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport which is located in downtown Toronto, Porter Airlines flight to Newark and from there I took a train to Newark Train station to Penn Station. I would of never known the connections if I didn't meet a couple taking the same flight, they were so patient and helpful, they let me tag along to show me the way! It's a blur now as I was so excited travelling for the first time by myself and it's been over 30 years since I was on a plane! I just looked up what trains I took, AirTran to Newark Liberty Airport Train Station and then Amtrak to Penn Station NYC

Personally, I prefer to take NJ Transit or Amtrak, then take the monorail to the terminal. Hiring a car or taking a cab is nice, but expensive. That bus you took seemed like a good way, too -- comfy and no too crowded. Maybe I'll try it the next time I need to go to Newark.

I've always seen lots of tourists taking NJT to the Newark airport monorail, while lugging tons of luggage. As for myself, I'd rather spend the extra bucks to get a cab and have peace of mind. Or better yet, have a friend drive me to the airport. Am glad you are showing all these necessary how to's, because it's very confusing.

Amazingly easy, efficient, clean, fast & reasonably priced. Wow. Newark Airport arrival to Manhattan on the Newark Airport Express bus is a breeze! The Coach USA Airport Shuttle Bus is at The far right of Newark Airport arrivals. Put the luggage in the bus hold & show the QR for the online pre-purchased ticket. Plenty of space on the bus itself, clean, comfortable & even with seatbelts. The first Manhattan stop took just 30 minutes. The weekday midday arrival was a great choice; no rush hour either way. Got off at the last stop on Lex & 41st (Grand Central). Hopped on the 101 bus for 2 stops & voila! I’d recommend it to anyone visiting. It was easy, sAfe, comfortable, reasonably priced & significantly less stressful than LGA, JFK & then multiple subway connections, stairways, rats, vagrants, smelly & so much longer & exhausting.

Newark Air Port is located in the cities of Newark and Elizabeth. Newark was the first major airport to serve the NYC area. BTW, there are actually 4 NYC area airports, all run by the Port Authority. JFK and LaGuardia in NYC plus Newark and Teterboro in NJ.

The easiest way to get to Newark Airport from NYC, is to take N.J. Transit train to the monorail hub, which is across the highway from the airport and the air train ( monorail) crosses the highway to the airport.
@ActionKid
@ActionKid 2 жыл бұрын
I took that method coming back from the airport. I’d have to disagree that it’s the easiest method since it involves two transfers and subject to train delays. Car service or Newark Airport express is the easiest and most direct.

@@ActionKid I used to work for the TSA at Newark and I would often give people the cheapest option, although that air train system can be costly, some people still didn't want to take either 62 bus to Newark and transfer bcuz those buses can be annoying with many people on the bus.
@fredashay
@fredashay 2 жыл бұрын
@@ActionKid Well, if you're taking Amtrak, expect delays. NJ transit is usually on time, and the trains run frequently during working hours so the wait isn't very long anyway. When I take NJ Transit anywhere (except the shore line), I treat it like the subway -- I just show up whenever and just wait for the next train.

You apparently haven't travelled to often to New Jersey if you're complaining about the price. I can't speak to that $1.50 admin charge, but the fuel charge is in response to rising gas prices, leaving what I would call a "reasonable" price of $17. These are costs I've become used to living in NJ. Obviously the train(s) option is more affordable, just not as convenient..

As a solo female traveler needing to find a way to the Newark Airport, this video was so helpful! I debated whether to take the trains or the bus from Midtown, and decided after watching this video that the bus seemed like an easy option. It was helpful to see the visual of turning the corner into the waiting area for the bus. And the Airport Express was smooth--I highly recommend if you don't want to worry about the train, if you're a little flexible on time, and if you prefer a straight shot to the airport. I do recommend getting in line a few minutes early (I was there 20 minutes prior to the departure time and ended up close to the front of the line. Thanks again!

Pulaski Skyway is the steel-skeleton elevated highway to your left. Sorry to disappoint ActionKid and General Pulaski, but you would have to take the HOLLAND Tunnel to get to the Pulaski Skyway. It connects to US Route 1. But I doubt that buses are allowed on the Skyway. BTW ... The most FUN way to the airport used to be a New York Airways helicopter from atop the PanAm building (now MetLife building) to the airport. When I took it in 1967 I think it was $25 and took about 10-15 minutes. Too bad they had a bad landing on the PanAm building in a windstorm, snapped off a rotor that fell to the street and killed someone, and that was the end of New York Airways and airport transportation by helicopter.

I've had a hard time finding the bus stops on 42 St. to catch ANY airport busses. Thanks for showing their sign (at approx. 25 min) .posted the Newark airport pick up spots, in your video. I am confused still about to JFK, and LGA. Phone apps for there are unclear, and I think are a different bus line! So I'd rather get to PATH at WTC, take that to Newark and catch a taxi outside Newark Penn main entry - not to wait for NJ Transit-air train or bus. it's generally a very quick combo and still a good price. I am coming from down there east (Two Bridges) anyway. I miss airport bus from downtown on Church St. And the bus area across from GCT on Park Ave. where now is closed pedestrian area. Used to have ticket and airline offices on 2 floor of bldg. next to the stop! AK, I bet you and most readers are too young or never saw West Side, 42 St/Midtown, or East Side airline terminal buildings, long torn down. The 42 St/ Midtown terminal was where 'Phillip Morris' bidg is on Park Ave. at 42 (other side of Avenue from what I describe in prior paragraph). Buy airline tickets, check your bags and busses to the airports!
