@@Cobuman Just subscribed to your channel. You are a real teacher. I want to try my hands on this Active Directory training, but need to ask few questions especially with the downloads bit. : 1. First of all can I do this on a laptop? If yes, is there anyone specific with certain specs? 2. Do I download trial version of windows server 2019 first? 3. Then use oracle virtual box software to install a virtual machine?

Thank you so much for this well explained video. I am transitioning into tech working on getting a help desk job and was intimated by AD when searching YT for information on what it is. In AD Account no option come to change password at first logon. Option appear for changing password at first logon if it's Email Account. Thanks.

@Cobuman Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is not a problem to have a really big number of users because all Active Directory does is provides login id and password, plus some Group Policy settings which are applied upon login. After you login to the computer... there is very little that AD needs to do. Basically, having 100 users is no big deal.

I had to work AD in Windows Server 2016 in last year when i took a 6 month IT course. The teacher asked me if i ever worked in an office, i told him no. LOL He seemed surprised that i knew this much. I never used Windows Server in my life and i never heard of the name Active Directory, i was just adding users, groups and passwords and so on just as practice. Same thing happened to me with my work on EXCEL, the teacher asked me for permission to use my work in his future classes. I thought my work was average but he thought differently. I think i constantly suffer from Dunning Kruger effect because even though i was always straight A student, i always underestimate myself because i know there is so much i dont know yet. Anyways thanks for your videos. You and Professor Messer are doing gods work. Do you have plans to do more videos, or updated videos? Has anything changed in IT since these 2 year old videos were posted? New software maybe?

Never forget that knowledge is power no matter how small it is. Always be proud of that.

Maybe you included it in another video but I think adding remote user setups at the beginning would be helpful for real world experience. ** Windows Home can not join Domains!!! 1. Log in as admin on users terminal and join to domain using a vpn. 2. Create user account on your admin terminal(Surface Pro) with server AD and Office 365 admin assigning a license. restart & sign back in to admin reconnecting through vpn then switch user to sign in as new user. After signing in continue signing in to one drive, office & outlook to activate subscription. back up one drive and right click to "Always Keep on Device" then set up printer using admin terminal through IP creating new user & a printer code to authorize user terminal to print. Put it on the Cloud

Hello, that issue sounds like computer is no longer on the Domain. I would login with working credentials and check to see if computer is still part of the Domain. You can check this in System Properties and on the first tab under Computer Name should be a Domain name listed.

So are you gonna make more videos on AD? like group policy and other stuff?

Depends on people's interest. I'm not getting much feedback from people in comments aside from you and few others.

How many AD users can we have on windows server 2022

I don't know specific numbers, but being an enterprise product, I would assume it would support hundreds of thousands of user accounts and objects.
