That tone in your voice when you said you've got some things going on you're not ready to talk about yet, I just felt that so hard....I know that time because that's me right now and just want you to know that regardless of the specifics you're not alone in processing big hard things. Holding space for you.

Thank you so much Jess. I wish I could talk about it, and I will in time, but right now, the pain is just too great. Thank you for holding space for me. I am sending love and healing wishes your way as you also navigate these difficult things.

I had never heard of active rest before, but when you described it I knew just what you meant. Crocheting & reading are like that for me.

Yeah it's one of those terms that once you see it, you kinda know what it means already even if you've never heard it before. :) Another term like that for me was "Autistic inertia."

Same! I do active rear daily. I feel sometimes I ignore what needs to be done & yet it drives me to “active rest”. (I guess task-avoiding).

I used to crochet. I crocheted my husband a blanket in a really simple stitch that I didn't have to count. I worked on it when I watched tv, and it looks awesome.

Very interesting video, thank you. I really appreciate that part of the company’s profit from each project purchased goes directly to the artist creating the design/image. That’s so cool! I also enjoyed leaning about Active Rest. Without knowing it, I’ve done this my whole life. It’s a nice way to explain how I need to rest from over stimulations but still can’t sit completely still. Thank you for sharing.

I literally JUST ordered my very first diamond painting 3 days ago and I didn't even know you had uploaded this video until I went searching for diamond painting videos on KZbin. What a treat! I do hope that everything is well for you and that you're doing better now with the rough patch you're going through. I'm currently sick with a chest, sinus and ear infection so this diamond painting is going to be keeping me company for a while ^_^' I'm going to hopefully finish up this diamond painting by the end of the year, frame it and gift it to a friend

I’m sorry to hear you’ve got sucky stuff going on, I hope you feel better soon ☺️. In recently found I get similar benefits from doing hand embroidery. Is repetitive but I can change it up when I want by doing a different stitch, i can use comps that are soothing or not too much to handle at a given time and I can practise the actual act of stitching with the aim of it helping me if/when I go into the medical field. Oh and if I want I can watch a show at the same time which is nice ☺️.

That does look relaxing, and it was so cute how Beltre wanted to be involved 😺. It can be SO satisfying to watch a project like that slowly get completed. What do you do with the canvas when you're not working on it? I'm thinking the only way I could work on something like that would be if I can put it away somehow in between. My kids would grab it and run off, plus I'd have to work on the dining room table, so we'd need the space for eating most of the time. Can you put something on top of it and/or tuck it away? I think you said it was sticky.
@MomontheSpectrum
@MomontheSpectrum Жыл бұрын
I just covered it back up with the plastic every time and put it on top of a bookshelf. I definitely had to do this over a long period of time! And storing it in-between was a big part of it :)

I am struggling with rest. I feel like I can't rest, it ends up always being active rest, but then I get into the black hole of hyper focusing on the task and don't rest again. Also, I feel guilty after because I find that those activities have "no purpose". So I spend a lot of time with my crafts, probably rest my mind but not my body, and feel like it is all a waste of time/useless stuff (omg knitting has this effect) Can you make a video on the topic of rest. What even resting means?
