I dont know if I'd count 21rds as a low round count drill.... You could only run it twice in a box of 50

I do a 3 round with reload Mozambique as my low round count drill. Put 1 round in 1 mag and 2 rounds in the other. Shuffle them around and load the gun. Using an anatomical defensive shooting target, put 2 rounds in the heart "Q" and 1 round in the head "T". I can get 7 reloads out of the same 21 rounds that way.

Different way to skin the cat. I like running Mozambique, too, but sometimes having to put more rounds on target teaches us different things than 2 and 1 do.

@@ASPextra just a chain yank there, John. We do the same drill but it starts from a sitting position. Dark lite range the only lights are on the targets. Realistically should start with a drink in your hand. cheers!

In this drill it's not about maintaining a small group, but getting hits that are acceptable on the target in the quickest time you can.

I have a cheap USA holster for my S/W 9mm VE that has a magazine holder to the front .but I never know if ill be quite enough to switch it out if need be.

I just can't accept that we responsibly armed citizens shouldn't work on reloads. It makes you manipulate the pistol, re-acquire your grip and sight picture and puts some stress in the whole process. Besides, can you guarantee that your magazine full of factory ammo won't have a bad load? You may have to clear the stoppage, and actually reload that mag you had to dump to clear it. I'm just not convinced, so I'll keep doing them. Your mileage may vary.

I literally said what the benefits are. But again, in analyzing literally 30,000 private citizen gunfights I have seen exactly ZERO where a reload made any difference at all.

@@ASPextra I don't doubt your analysis and yes, you did state the benefits. It is for those very benefits that I chose to practice my reloads. In my former LEO days, I carried a revolver and later a semi-auto and practiced them then. I still practice for the day I hope never comes, even though the percentages say that I will not have to defend myself or others. My mileage differs from yours. You do good work and I enjoy your channel, and will continue to do so.
