I have 2 questions: (1) Was it only the games or also the DLCs? because I feel like the Call Of Duty games from Call Of Duty 5 World At War up until Call Of Duty 15 Black Ops 4 have a lot of important content locked being the pay wall where just the base game wouldn't be enough (2) Can You play Online with Your Pirated copies against other players? and if so can They be Normal players or it can only be with other Pirated players?
@piefighter36
@piefighter36 2 ай бұрын
@@alface935 1. It's actually more difficult to find pirated copies without dlc than with, since dlc is so nice to have. Although the only thing the dlc is really useful for is zombies 2. One word: plutonium. Plutonium is a separate and superb community run app that hosts servers for a handful of cod games. I only personally use it to play tranzit with the lads, but I do know that it supports regular multiplayer as well and actually has some respectable player counts. Should be said that plutonium servers require you to have a plutonium account, meaning you can't transfer progress from a real copy, and the other players are other plutonium accounts, but plutonium accounts are free and the games are identical

I mean what did you expect? H2M literally used ripped assets from the original MW2 (since Activision did a terrible job in the "Remastered" edition). No chance in hell is a mod like that going to stay up. Also does anyone else remember the modded MW2 lobbies on PC that still had RCEs? You could cause an entire lobby to blue screen with a script

On other related news SM2 is coming back with their own game.

They likely saw some of the H2M developers tweeting about how child-adult sexual relations should be legal and how "the shot shouldn't have missed". Activation did the morally correct thing by pulling any power out from under their feet.

In all seriousness this is so disappointing I wonder what Activision would’ve done if they would’ve just put the mod in BO3s Workshop? I mean if they’re so worried about stole assets, there’s a ton in the workshop not just CoD assets but other games as well, this sucks tho man so bs, they were scared that this game (which wasn’t gonna take away many players away from the main line game) was gonna take away from potential players fkin hell man they better make BO6 the best game ever or some sh!t which most likely isn’t gonna be all that great because of SBMM and constant bundle trash

Aside from licensing there's a reason Activision hasn't remastered any of the golden age cods. (MW was the start) If they were to remaster and release any of the old cods no sane person would ever buy a new cod game ever again, which means less $ for acti. Why remake an old cod and sell for 40 one time when you can sell a new cod for 70-100 every year and fill it to the brim with mtx. The golden age of cod and gaming is over and the sooner people understand that and act accordingly the better
@Nanokk_

Tbh I was expecting this, if the other cod project that was like a "greatest hits" of all cod weapons, maps and all that got a c&d before even being released then I wouldn't see why they wouldn't take this down. At least there are a lot of free to play alternatives to cod, xdefiant is good, delta force hawk ops is good, Titanfall 2's Northstar client, there are a lot of ways to have a good arcade fps experience without giving money to Activision, it's still a shame that they are so scummy but that's just how capitalism be sometimes I guess
@Nanokk_

I thought there was a chance since you needed to buy a game from Activision to be able to play it, they could see it as a sort of "helping each other" thing. But yeah I'm incredibly disappointed and probably gonna go back to not playing games again lol
@bloodmemes
@bloodmemes 2 ай бұрын
@@Nanokk_ they did take down the boiii and I think ghosts and aw clients even though that. Again there are ways to have good (maybe even better imo) fps experiences for free rn, stuff like this happens every week at this point so as long as you have something fun to play atm it doesn't matter how many anti consumer decisions the higher ups of these companies do, keep playing what makes you have fun and move on from this, as most people have from all the other terrible news not only in the gaming industry, but in the world overall

lets get real, this MOD would just be 6v6 sniper matches anyway... but yeh its a shame for the ones looking forward to it.. activison they know a very small %will buy mw remastered on steam, you forget they whip their asss with cash, they don't need a few sales from a old game, they will do whats best for the companys longevity. and maximising long term profits. its not about fun anymore, cod as we know it is dead, its time we let go and move on... and yes i'm on my way to leave bad reviews . fuck em
@Nanokk_
@Nanokk_ 2 ай бұрын
Okay so a few things 1. I don't think it would turn into 6v6 sniper matches, there absolutely would've been lobbies full of people not wanting that sort of thing 2. If you think they only got "a few sales from an older game" you probably didn't hear the part where I said it was the best selling game on steam. That doesn't come from a few sales. Cod is most certainly dead though, I just wish there was some people playing the older games that weren't hacking scumbags

Activision is well within their rights to shut down the H2M mod. It's their intellectual property, and they have full control over how it's used. Before purchasing MW2 Remastered, did anyone get official confirmation from Activision about this mod being greenlit? If not, expecting the mod to go live without the owner's approval was always a risky bet. And then there’s the issue of potential security risks-if something happened to your PC because of this mod, who would you hold accountable? H2M or Activision? It’s a reminder that mods, especially those not officially supported, can carry risks and exist in a legal gray area, meaning they can be pulled at any time
@Nanokk_
@Nanokk_ 2 ай бұрын
@ItsSuman9 guys we found an activision shill who knows nothing about videogames!!! Mods are the reason the fps Genre exists at all. Without it we don't have 95% if the shooter games we have today. It's so obvious you're oblivious to how this industry works. If you actually knew, you'd be against what's happened
@PriyoXBOX
@PriyoXBOX 2 ай бұрын
@@Nanokk_ Wow, way to oversimplify things. Just because mods have been crucial in shaping the FPS genre doesn’t mean Activision’s heavy-handed approach should be blindly defended. Yes, mods have driven innovation, but that doesn't excuse the fact that using someone else’s IP without permission is legally shaky at best. It’s not about disregarding modders; it’s about acknowledging that there’s a legal framework that needs to be respected.You want to throw around accusations of being an 'Activision shill'? Nice try, but it’s not about being a shill-it's about recognizing that even in a creative industry, rules matter. Mods are important, but so is respecting intellectual property and understanding the risks involved. How about focusing on finding solutions that protect both the creativity of modders and the rights of IP owners, rather than resorting to kneejerk reactions..and "Its Suman" thats my gamertag...go check cod,bf,ow2
@Nanokk_
@Nanokk_ 2 ай бұрын
@ItsSuman9 wow you're dumb. People like you are going to lead to the death of this industry. Enjoy having the same slop released over and over because "muh ip". You should work for Activision, you'd fit right in
@PriyoXBOX
@PriyoXBOX 2 ай бұрын
@@Nanokk_ really? Resorting to name-calling because you can't handle a rational discussion? If you're so convinced that respecting IP rights will 'kill the industry,' maybe you should reconsider your understanding of how it works. The 'same slop' you’re complaining about is exactly what happens when big companies stifle innovation and creativity by enforcing their IP rights without consideration. It's not about being a company shill; it’s about balancing respect for creative work with the need to protect intellectual property. Maybe if you spent less time throwing tantrums and more time understanding how the industry functions, you’d see that this isn't about stifling creativity-it's about ensuring fair play for everyone involved. So save the ‘Activision employee’ jabs for someone who actually cares; I’m here for the discussion, not the petty insults. and i never bought any cod after black ops cold war...dont know about you
@Nanokk_
@Nanokk_ 2 ай бұрын
@ItsSuman9 saying I can't handle a rational discussion is wild because from the start you've been dumb. Your argument is dumb, buying cold war is dumb, and IP rights are dumb and should be changed. You're just a little man with weak arguments. So why don't you go play cold war, the game is just as bad as your arguments

The answer is simple, stop playing any of the new CoDs, fuck great value MW3, fuck BO6. Dont purchas the game, play it off game pass, or buy any bundles. There is no reason that this should have happened, the only arguments i hear are the following: 1) it would affect player counts in the newer game: no it wouldnt, in the golden age of CoD and even past that through to BO4 people would play the newest CoD side by side with the greatest titles, and this is a PC exlusice mod so the console players are still there. 2) It would take away profit from activision: you had to buy CoD4R to even play this putting more money in activisions greasy palms and the momey made from the existing spastic fanboys would make up for the players that bail to the mod. 3)Activision might have a plan to release MW2R at a later date: srsly? The only reason this happened is because activision execs have an ego larger than lizzo and they cannot cope with the fact that the playerbase is dissatisfied with the current product and refuse to compromise even a little until it affects their bottom dollar, and even then they drip feed changes because the stockholm syndrome victims that are the fans are so starved for it we jump for it every time. Personally i just refuse to play the game anymore until they decide to pull their heads out of their asses and either give us a proper remaster with continued support, or allow for these fan mods to be made with the caveat they buy the OG game first.
