The entire American education system is in doctrination in favor of eurocentricity. Webster made up our language Webster also made up our US "History".... It's all indoctrination. So what's your point, and you'd rather your child learn Eurocentric indoctrination then Non-racist indoctrination?

I wish I could find more open-minded discussions like this in Canada. Everyone is under the false impression that Critical Race Theory and the BLM movement are meant to support poor black communities who need a "leg up" but that is not their goal at all!!

BLM is overseen by Thousand Currents so that it can exercise its existence as a 501.3(c) tax exempt organization. Its overseer is Susan Rosenburg. She is a woman who had set off a bomb in a federal building years ago and whos sentence was commuted on President Clinton's last day in office. All of the top 3 BLM leaders are self proclaimed Marxists. So no, BLM is not about helping. Its about the tearing down.

That's the plan. Keep them defeated and victims, but give them just enough hope that through government things will get better. Wash, rinse, repeat. This cycle keeps them falling for the same narrative over and over.

Believe it or not, the young teachers who have been indoctrinated into socialism can explain away all of the messages in Animal Farm. I have had discussions with the teacher across the hall from me, and she looks at Animal Farm and other such works as propaganda against Communism because capitalists were trying to keep the unions down.

My first encounter with racism, discrimination & shaming came in middle school from my OWN peers. I was raised to see an individual’s character, intention & personality NOT their race or gender. Parents need to be held accountable for what they teach their own children & not put that responsibility on the education system/everyone else. It starts in the home.

I had the exact same thing happen to me, and in the same period (middle school). I'm going to take a guess it was for 'acting or speaking too white' I knew too many who went through the same thing including myself.

@@bryan81584 Yes, that was one reason, among others. I’m not a native born Dominican but my parents instilled their values & traditions in me so I identified with both Dominican/American growing up. I lived in a very Latin community & attended school where we were the majority so looking back on it now I know speaking well is not exclusive to one race & wanting to be good in school is also not exclusive to one race. It just blows my mind that this is how children were & still are being molded & CRT is most definitely not education.

I am sorry that you guys went through this. I am teaching my kids that people are people...ugly and evil comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. Telling children to judge people based on their color (all white people are racist, all POC are victims, etc) is EXACTLY what we have been fighting against. It's super dangerous because they want to hire folks based on quotas for color, sexual identity, etc. Its sickening. Someone has to speak up for all of our children.

A 23 year old girl at work told me this past week that she had to read 1984 in school and I think animal farm too. I was surprised since it wasn't required reading when I went to school in the 80's let alone today. She commented that she thinks that it is a banned book now since there are sources that are refusing to sell it.

we had to read it in the 80s in high school. we also were shown Yuri Bezmenov's lectures about how communism takes over from within... and he was right. everything he said has already happened and this kind of thing.. CRT is right out of the subversive measures of commie take over.

I'm natively center left politically and I'm so grateful for these honest discussions. No name calling, straw manning, respect for the people who do have different opinions and recognition that everything is complicated. Unfortunately many people from the left are trained to immediately react to the criticism of the topic itself, rather than the criticism of the process. Questioning CRT must mean you don't care about marginalized people. They aren't told about the actual process.

More people in community need to speak up. Don’t let anything slide. Also if your kids are in a private school, even if it is a Christian or other parochial school, don’t rest on your laurels. These ideas are seductive and insidious. You will find them infecting private schools as well. Remember that if this is you, you are paying them extra. They have no right to intimidate you or your child. They will listen to you.

The 'solution' for the Minnesota Education Department, thus far, is to increase funding, to deflect questioning, and to "ensure that everyone's voice is heard." That is to say; by excluding anyone who disagrees with them. The Minnesota Education Department is avoiding accountability by professing naïveté; being deliberately vague, denying awareness or selecting only points that reenforce their views, refusing to acknowledge evidence, constantly obscuring / shifting their intent, and refusing to respond to questions and concerns. Exactly. I recently have debated people online and always asking them to go in detail about what they want to change. And what they think the root of racism is. Basically not swaying into anything except defining these two points precisely. It’s really sad. I’m assuming they are probably kids. And every time I try to get them to tell me exactly what these points mean in clear terms, not a single one can. I ask them what laws they want to implement or change. What causes racism. Absolutely no answer. The last person I debated just went quiet. They even agreed with me that our laws are currently fair and just. And that they didn’t want any of our laws changed.

Great interview! I always say, schools need to be kept at an academic curriculum, period. If and teacher is teaching anything other than reading , writing, or arithmetic , it does not belong. Why aren’t the schools teaching useful things like how to balance a checkbook, how to get along with people , how to search for work, make resumes, and conduct interviews??! Something that will make you succeed in life and In the community. School systems in America are embarrassing and if I had children, they would not be going there.

It is interesting that her daughter was essentially bullied, if we take her at her word, for going to the Southside to meet kids and learn from them instead of sitting through a day full of telling these kids what is wrong with them in a way because of the social construction of the world. Why are we talking and not doing?

If she came from a more affluent part of town, the only "realization" she would come away with is "I am glad it is not me". She would then go back to her settings and continue with life. She has no incentive / intention to disrupt the "status quo" as she benefits from it

There should be a nation wide referendum on allowing public schools and tax funded colleges and universities teach critical race theory in these institutions. I'm so tired having this garbage shoved down our throats. Let the people in each state decide if they want their children exposed to this.

This type of pedagogy is very punitive to any form of dissent and make their retributions very public. Also, this type of thinking has a tendency to get dumped straight into curriculum, even supplanting the basic goals of what education endeavors to accomplish.

Unfortunately, my daughter fell victim because we didn't know what was going on during her high school years. She graduated in 2014. A lot of that was because my husband was active duty military until he retired in 2014. He just wouldn't take a political stand because he couldn't and I honestly didn't know what was being taught. We always talked about things at home so she knew that we were conservative, but the shaming & blaming was so pervasive that she fell into it. She thought her dad was a nazi for voting for Trump because he became more outspoken after he retired. We have to not talk about some subjects because she will break down in hysterical tears and run out of the house (I wish I was lying) and then we see her less and less. Ironically, she has taken in our other lessons about hard work. She's worked 2 jobs plus selling plasma to get by. She exclusively shops 2nd hand and dumpster dives. She thinks that's great, but also thinks others shouldn't have to do that & deserve $15 an hour but as someone that hired for her company sees that the money is too much for the job. Her cognitive dissonance is off the charts. What's exceptional to me is that she's absorbed those views and never went to university. Our son went straight into the Marine Corps 3 years later from the same high school yet retains the same upbringing morality. It's as weird to us as anyone reading this. We honesty don't know what to do as we live in different realities.

This was the most inspirational video I have watched in a while. Thank you Carol and Beth for helping me feel hopeful and knowing what I need to do. It's about ALL the children. They are our future and if we let this continue, it's untelling the direction America could take. BUT I truly do have faith that there are more of us who oppose this indoctrination than those who support. And I do feel most are just blind to what is going on. I am currently in a doctoral program. The actual academic learning, the pursuit of diversity of thought has been crowded out by critical race theory and a singular mindset fixated on liberal agendas. It makes me sick. I never really intended on being a professor but have started to realize, maybe that is exactly where I should be.

It used to be a tough road for kids who came from backgrounds of poverty and underprivilege to get a good liberal education. Now it would be next to impossible for many of these, because the providers of "education" for these children are not interested in actually educating them (to know how to be useful to and for themselves in their own lives) but only as indoctrinated 'warriors'. Useful pawns in a game that may not in any way benefit them. I've worked in higher education for a long time, and constantly research educational philosophy. Changes in the past 4 decades reveal an awful lot of babies thrown out with an awful lot of bathwater. A great indoctrination far too often supersedes a useful education. For all the yelling, hooting and hollering about how to actually correctly instruct marginalized children - there isn't a peep to be heard about the actual results. What I mean by that is the advent of the hallowed and holy "Get Out of School Free" card. It has become a very popular card in marginalized communities. And the so-called leaders and spokespersons for these communities are never found to utter a word of objection about the results of all that failure, except only to conclude it is for one reason only: racism. (Except of course that many people of color including Africans themselves, thrive educationally across the nation.) Including brand new immigrants and subsequently, their children. And yes. I would call that the shame of the nation. When several million American born kids on an ongoing basis are taught, encouraged to deny themselves the acquisition of a thing in life as precious as freedom itself. (If you read modern Afghanistan history, you will discover that many of the women in that war-torn land have learned to equate two words: freedom and education.) They never learned that education was "white". Or any other thing than a possible chance to improve and escape the oppression in their lives. This is not to suggest that all these kids being handed their Get Out of School Free cards need to go through or experience what those women went through in Afghanistan. But sometimes a little bit of external perspective helps one to get out of themselves and to see perhaps a wider picture. I have been literate for most of my life. I learned at a very young age, that one drowns by one slow dry drop at a time, without literacy.

Regarding the shaming aspect, it is important to be aware that the aim of forcing apologies through shaming is creating an underlying statement that they are apologizing that the person of color is "not as special". It is extremely narcissistic. But ask why race theorists need to have that message. It actually imprints their victimization message, as a fulfilling prophecy.

I remember graduating from HS in 2015-2016 i had a history teacher named Mr. Viglietti in Buffalo, NY try to tell me I was racist for simply supporting Trump and being a republican, then he proceeded to bash Candace Owen's and such. He called me an idiot for supporting such a racist party and any time I debated him on it he would say he's the teacher and he's right, basically calling me dumb too. 😒

No. That is Baltimore's Inner Harbor and the back drop is Fort McHenry. The flag is the flag from 1814 (Battle of Baltimore).

The beauty of this story is that Beth did not protest against what was being offered - she just wanted to include an alternative view. Kids (and adults) need to be exposed to all different points of view so they can decide for themselves what to value. Kudos to Beth! And Dr. Swain, of course, for giving her a platform :)

CRT is an orthodoxy that is directly tied to the politics of the far left. It’s supposed to be illegal to enforce an orthodoxy in a public institution and make no mistake it is being enforced. I thought this was clearly established in WV Board of Ed vs Barnette (1943) “If there is any fixed star in our constitutional constellation, it is that no official, high or petty, can prescribe what shall be orthodox in politics, nationalism, religion, or other matters of opinion or force citizens to confess by word or act their faith therein.” -Justice Jackson

I have been concerned with this also..We are one of the few places in the world where we are trying to get multiple people from different cultures races and ethic groups to work together and live peacefully side by side..that is a large part of the American dream..we are all Americans ..we are in this together

She talked about “getting out of your comfort zone,” which I can understand and agree with. It’s just that CRT has adopted that sentiment as well: “You’ll feel uncomfortable, but just remember, just because it’s uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s wrong.” Thing is...things can be “uncomfortable” and true, things can also be “uncomfortable” and downright manipulative, gaslighting and false.

The root of today’s Racial Strife in my opinion goes back to Johnson’s Great Society : Lots of promises were made but two are Critical # 1 : Family structures were devastated - fathers became inconsequential and ABSENT - this gave us lots of Angry - Violent - Young Men acting out to this day ! #2: Educational System never rose to the occasion to give poor students enough of an education to move up the ladder of success! Government let it go at the same time Unions were starting to worry more about Benefits than the kids ! Poor curriculums - plus low expectations - plus non motivated parents or staff =. Lost hopes and dreams = resort to Anger and Frustration ? Public Education Monolith can’t be moved - Especially when they OWN POLITICAL PROTECTION ! Great Conversations - Please Continue and Good Luck ! By the way - Nothing like a good CRISIS to rationalize poor results ? 🤔

America has a lot of issues because people judge others based on petty things, such as, the color, texture, and length of a person hair; and the height, weight, and shape of a person's body. America has a lot of issues because "predatory" Capitalism, NOT DEMOCRACY. is becoming the Rule of Law.
