Sometimes injuries don't hurt like they seem they should, especially fractures. Sometimes it's just moderate discomfort until you realize what exactly happened. I've had some pretty bad lacerations that didn't hurt at all until hours later, when they then hurt like hell.

Man, this feels weird to read. When I broke my wrist, I wanted to keep going and not worry about the pain, but it literally disabled me. I could do nothing but grieve in pain, as I waited for it to stop. I don't think this is a will thing.

@@ChaoGardenTastic I've broken my arm and when it happened, I was in shock and numb for atleast half an hour before the adrenaline wore off and the full pain and realisation of how useless my arm was. You can clearly tell he can't quite process what's just happened to him or what to do about it, it's really important to have someone like his sensei that can recognise someone who has been seriously injured but is completely shocked and can't cry out or ask for help, since pretty much everyone there is oblivious, focused on putting on a good show or looking after kids.
