Channel name: "News 18 Keralam". Target demographic: Keralites. However, the spoken language is "broken English" with a subpar vocabulary that even 5th-grade kids in the US wouldn't use. What's the rationale behind this? If both parties are Malayalis, why resort to poorly spoken foreign language instead of using Malayalam?
