The masterfulness of Ari’s phrasing is unbelievable. Especially given the tempo. I’ve transcribed and am working on the opening... it’s even more sick than it sounds when you actually dig in. Displacing the two hi hat openings throughout? ... just generally phrasing in the funkiest of ways and at this fast ass tempo?? Not to mention the technique involved.. Way more happening than “random linear grooving” ... unbelievable drumming here.
