I think the big reason people say that women shouldn’t have kids past like 35 or whatever (though I’ve mostly heard it for past 40) is because of the increased chance of birth defects, increased risk of certain mental or physical health defects, etc. and not because of them being incompetent, but modern medicine makes some of those points moot and are obviously based on individual risk factors. What if the relationships in your 20's don't work out? What if your boyfriend or husband turns out to be an abuser? Should you just stay with him then out of fear of your 30's Abby??? On top of that, getting married early only works out sometimes. Most of the time from my personal experience, people don't have themselves or their mental health quite under control yet and end up getting a divorce. Are those women then used up?
@julietfischer50566 ай бұрын
For some people, a woman over 30 is 'used up,' especially if she was married. A woman is supposed to be young and pretty, not a mother or grandmother. There's no 'grow old with me: the best is yet to be' for these folks. Back when people didn't travel very far and extended families lived in the same town (or even the same household), young people had help from relatives. There were older relatives to consult for advice and assistance, even to be role models if parents were less than ideal. Life was not as complicated then (for the most part), so there was less to keep track of and navigate. Young people could marry and do reasonably well because there was always somebody to provide a hand with childrearing, work, cooking, cleaning, and the other necessities of life.

So what I got from Abby is: Women in their 20s are hotter, unless they had children, because then you're not hot anymore, in which case 30s is hotter, but you're more fertile in your 20s, but if you had children in your fertile 20s, you are not as hot. I'm confused, why is this all non-sense.

I'm mid 40' my mum had me 31 in the late 70's. She had the audacity to study to become a teacher before getting married. My dad was the same age but it was his second marriage. This trend is getting bigger but its not new. The reason they are fighting this is to have alit if kids you have to start younger, but there are few examples of stable big families. Nit if you look at the quality and frequency of abuse.

I saw a post where someone was doing a "this is what thirty without makeup looks like" and I was like "damn she's a cutie" and then I realized that it was supposed to be about embracing aging and then I realized that I'm getting old I guess and it was weird and i'm scared of my mortality anyway thanks for listening

You don't have a man you married out of fear of becoming an old maid forcing you to breed a gaggle of kids you can't effectively parent while also forcing you to be a content creator to cash in on your more successful brother's last name. I imagine going g through that puts some more stress on a person.

"If you fight..." Me: yeah thats a bad sign "Even if weekly?" Me: what. Im too young for marriage for now(I mean, I CAN get married, but yknow, would like more time and experience and all that), and I gotta say, if I had a fight with my GF monthly, that would make me reconsider dating her. To think that someone could have a fight weekly and still get married is ridiculous. You may as well tell me they have 3 ears.
@angelasmith50196 ай бұрын
It’s not about how often you fight, but how you fight and for what reason. There are things, that if my significant other said or did them during one fight, I’d be gone. But if you’ve just moved together and you are fighting a lot about household stuff, that’s probably normal. You are figuring stuff out for the first few months.

Im a lesbian who has no intention of having children. Obviously shes conservative so she believes gay people are a figment of her imagination but i still feel the need to say this. What happens if for one reason or another a couple cannot have children. Her entire video was about having kids and fertility but what about cases where children aren’t an option? Who knows 🤪

So like.... the kids, they were saying "30 is old" but like think back to your own younger days, anything is old to someone who has the word 'teen' in their age. Oh..... and the kids got it from the tate.... the future's about to be fuuuuuuuun!

Abby used a lot of words to say women should be grateful to be barefoot and pregnant at age 15. Also love how she blames "girlbossing" when most people hold off on starting a family until their 30s because they are paid shit wages and can't afford to live comfortably (only needing to work one job, having a stable home, food, clothing, and getting to go on vacation) because conservatives like her think fast food workers don't deserve $20/hr.

The concern trolling about women’s fertility is blatant projection specifically from men, considering that sperm counts on average have been decreasing and that spermatozoa are the “less quality” gamete, biologically speaking. Just because you have the potential to make more of them over a longer period of time doesn’t mean that said swimmers are high quality.

Both my sister and sister in law got married in their mid 20's. Both (and also at least one of my SIL-s 3 sisters) had at least one miscarriage. They all got their first successful pregnancies around 30 and later, only one got successfully pregnant around 26 or something. Same with other friends who tried for quite a long time. Basically: most women who wanted to have children to whom I have actually talked about it had at least one miscarriage. Tells you something about how much easier it is for women to have children earlier! Also, looks-wise, as a 40-year-old woman myself - I definitely looked better in my 30's than in my 40's, lol.

Didn’t get married until 35 and I’m SO GLAD I didn’t marry any of the silly geese I partnered with in my 20’s. Some of them were bad people, but most of them just didn’t like me that much, and I was too deep in my people pleasing phase to realize that the problem wasn’t them or me but that we weren’t comparable. It sucks but it happens.
