I will say, distance can sometimes increase desire even if neither person needs space. My first serious relationship went from being in-person and happily intimate to being long distance for several months, and I was NEVER SO DESPERATE FOR ANYONE as I was for them during those months. Without going into TMI, we were more intimate than we'd ever been for a long time after that, just because we were so happy to be able to touch each other again. On a smaller scale, I've lived with them for years but sometimes I'll go spend a night or two with family, and without fail the moment I get home, it doesn't matter that it hasn't really been that long, we missed each other and we're going to do something about it immediately.
