I'm actually so thankful for an upload, my dad died Tuesday. I found out Wednesday morning because my phone came out of my pocket and by the time I found it. It had been ran over by a car all of Wednesday was dedicated to trying to fix it or get another one and this is a Lou of me being hit physically. My actual body on last Friday by an issue v. This last week has been hellish and and I've been really feeling down and really struggling with grief. Thanks for being in the nick of time.

This might be my fav video to date! This is literally what my channel and brand is about. Showing black women how to spend wisely and save more so you can do the things you love without going into debt for it! It saddens me to see many of us overspending with nothing to show for it but deep credit card balances like you said. I still overspend at times but it’s become much better because I am realistic like you said! I’m gonna travel but that means no new bags for a while and that’s fine. Your videos often come just at the right time. While in PA visiting family for the holidays, my father told me he has stage 3 terminal lung cancer. He also struggles with money and his health insurance (he had none) finally kicked in after already having cancer for 7 months and not telling me. To make a long story short, I like to get my hair and nails done and I also buy my kids a lot of luxury stuff and just kind of used to living high end but with this news my father is going to need financial help and of course his life is more important than these “petty” meaningless things that make me happy, but after watching your video I feel inspired to make somewhat of a balance. With HIS needs coming FIRST no matter what! And to do more things from home for free. Even if I wasn’t in this financial situation this video is extremely helpful and I would be taking a lot of advice from here anyways. Thank you so much for always sharing your wisdom I have been following you for years but always so busy so sometimes late to watching your videos but I always catch up. God bless!

So many gems dropped in this video…. I think the biggest take away and friendly reminder is we are not in the same tax bracket as these influencers. I too often question how are people affording these “luxury” items, vacations and maintenance. Financial literacy is key and it’s not worth going broke over trying to keep up. I have decided to make 2024 a low buy year. I tried it in 2023 and was moderately successful (mainly failed during my brother's wedding). Only buying essentials and refills that too during major sale and shopping my own wardrobe. I have also planned to declutter all the garments I have not worn in the last year. I am planning a pregnancy in 2024 and I want to create a space of mental abundance and free of clutter. Thanks for the video. Also I have opted to do an yearly budget this year.
