I love that you interviewed a Japanese man and non-white woman couple instead of the common Japanese man and white woman couple. It's like they're rarely highlighted in the Japanese community. And this couple looks really fun and laid-back, I love it.

@stevenliang32135 жыл бұрын
ZuneGuy1118 Black women (and Asian men) are generally considered the “least desirable” of all the race as denoted by multiple dating apps in the Us. Most desirable? White men and asian women so you expect these groups to marry outside their race more than others Of course, it’s somewhat different when you are in Japan where Japanese people are the majority. That’s why seeing a black woman with a Japanese man is rare compared to other interracial couples.

Yuta this was a great video! You could tell that they are just a normal couple and they were awesome because they even admitted to having arguments and fighting but what they said they did after was the whole point! If you really like that person and want to be with them, you have to communicate find solutions. Just don't give up! Be Yourself, not who you think you should be or act, because the people that matter the most will love you for who you are inside and out!

These two really made me smile so much! I think that they really look like a fun couple and I hope it lasts. Only IMO but I think being around Americans and interacting with them for most of his life made a huge difference to being a little more open to 'letting go' and being himself. The cultures that you are exposed to actually can affect a person more than they realize. I hope that she is also able to open up more to his culture as well and it is not one sided. Very nice interview Yuta! I hope you do more like this!
@ixlovexrain7 жыл бұрын
I think so too. At least pretty much every Japanese person I've seen who's in a long-term relationship with a foreigner has either studied abroad and/or has a strong interest in different cultures and languages. But I guess this goes both ways.If someone leaves their home country, they tend to be more open-minded by default. Of course there are different kinds of people and some are more connected to their own culture while others prefer to assimilate as much as possible.

What I would be interested in is seeing a relationship explored that is a foreign female with a more traditional Japanese man (not so foreign exposed, doesn't really speak English etc., which is the majority of men in the country) The only relationships that I've seen that ever work (for various reasons) between foreign women and Japanese men is when the man is very internationalized.

Hey Yuta, I'm not sure if you've seen the Spongebob anime opening that's been all over Facebook in America lately, but it would be cool if you can get people's reaction to that. Like some of the other foreign made anime parodies you've shown, I think actual Japanese people will find it cringeworthy, especially the random texts floating throughout the video, but it would be nice to hear their opinions about to grasp how popular anime has really become outside of Japan.
