Hi, i wanted to know this component: in the upper part of the hdmi with no sticker, if you go a little bit to the right, you'll see a component, "f400", that component burned in my graphics card, what's the name of the component, i would appreciate your help ☺️

I've got one of these cards them fuses you talk of keep blown the 2 next PCI-E power. I've replaced them 4 times tonight while trying various fixs with this card. I've checked resistance of a lot of the main components. When I think I have this card repaired it just blows it fuses again I think it could be a short have you come across MOSFETs becoming shorted on these cards what would be the most common short on these RX pulse cards. I bought the card broken it's just a project to become more familiar on how these cards work do you have any recommendations. Thanks

I have a Sapphire RX 470 that I bought off eBay. It arrived DOA and I had to replace the two fuses near the 8-pin and then did troubleshooting to find one of the four power phases was dead. Apparently, this is a common problem with these Sapphire Polaris cards. I was unable to replace the power phase, so I removed its inductor completely and the card runs fine with only three of the four power phases and three BIOS edits.

I have Rx 570 itx pulse mini, it's powered by 6pin connector only and has 10A fuse to the connector. On the pcie slot it has 8A fuse. Power limit of the card is 120w, and can be changed via adrenaline or msi afterburner to +50% so 180w total. We all know that this is only the chip power and TBP will be like 30w more at least, so total 210w. Something doesn't add up. Giving the fact that pcie connector can only provide up to 75w, and the 6 pin connector is limited to 120w max by the fuse, total 75+120=195. How can the bios of the card permit something like that? shouldn't the fuse blow when using max power limit in something like furmark? well I've tried and it didn't. What do you think about that?

Hello, I've got what I believe an MLCC capacitor (tiny square with brown color) fall off from my Sapphire pulse RX 580. And since I don't know the value of said capacitor, I can't replace it. Can you tell me what's the value?
@youngsairgunsa3 жыл бұрын
chances are if its a filtering capacitor, (one side is ground the other has some resistance) then any capacitor that is physically the same in size will work. it will most probably work without it, it will just not be as filtered as it was

The card is solid, just not meant for any crazy OC. And seeing how hard it is to get any decent OC out of the 480 and 580s - you did well not spending any more cash on it, as even a beefy heatsink, binned chips and a very solid cooler would get ya no more than 5% performance boost over a cheaper 580.

This is the exact same PCB as my RX 480 Nitro (non-plus). The VRM near PCI-E power connector is for memory, so the other one must be aux.
@GBCobber6 жыл бұрын
I recently bought a used 4GB one of those. Someone had flashed it for mining I assume since I had to use the pixel patch to get the drivers working, and the core is set to 1326. Not complaining though, the 4x6mm pipe cooler is great and the Samsung memory still clocks to nearly 2.15GHz while the core manages 1390 with just increased power limit. (Seems he(she or it) might have lowered that to 142W as well)(edit: thats actually stock for this card). It runs Firestrike fine at 1375/2125 @ 75C, 50% fan. I am curious about the VRM but I'm not sure I want to take it apart. At 1390 with + 30% Pwr it generally stayed around 160-170, but occasionally spiked into the 190's, which was a bit scary. Top plate near VRM can get hot to the touch but a small fan pointed at it works wonders. Next job is to back up the bios and see if the memory timings have been tightened up, would explain why it cant hit 2250. Aside from the hot back plate at high clocks the performance is good, fans are in great shape, really quiet and I never saw the VRM efficiency go below 96% when under load. I kinda wanted that dual bios but this cooler is so much better than the old 480 nitro cooler, that, the 8 pin power and Samsung ram on a 4G card makes it a win IMO.
@GBCobber6 жыл бұрын
Confirmed. Going by the rear fan header placement compared to the 580 Nitro + PCB, my RX 480 nitro(non +) OC 4GB has the Pulse PCB.

OK, I'm starting to think I got Elipda ram and the previous owner flashed the card with a samsung bois. Could you check yours please and let me know what you got? According to www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?manufacturer=Sapphire&model=RX+480 only the 8G has samsung and I def have a 4G going by all the labels, my memory timings also use a different format.
@GBCobber6 жыл бұрын
Update! Lucky Day!!! I found a Samsung bios for this card here: www.miningtweaks.com/sapphire-rx-480-nitronone-4gb-samsung/ He has both the original and a 30.5Mh/s modded bios for download, which looks more professional than my crudely modded bios. So I flashed my card with the original bios and all good. It was indeed Samsung. Now to see what it can do.
@GBCobber6 жыл бұрын
Results are in. Apart from the 20Mhz OC, the mining bios on this card as I bought it only changed the memory timings. In Firestrike the core does up to 1375 reliably either way, and up to 190 at lower mem clocks. Ram with mining bios made over 2130. Now with original bios it just makes it to 2250 with all default (and the same voltages). At 1375/2125 (Mining) vs 1375/2250 (Orig) the mining bios still won by exactly 100 points in Firestrike. 10574 vs 10474 at 1680 x 1050 on a stock i5 2400 w 1333mem. So I've looked at quite a few bios versions now and the Samsung def has the best out of the box timings, followed by hynix, elpida and micron, which is amazing considering it also clocks higher at its tighter timing. I'm a happy chappy now. Good luck to you and all who've read my rant. Hope it was useful. Oh, BTW, My serial No. starts with A1646. It's rare to see that number, none of the database I've seen include it. It's Samsung.

Yup, it's Polaris 20 now. And would you know if the RX580 GTS and the HIS IceQ2 RX580 share the same PCB again like with the RX480 GTR and the IceQ2 RX480? Because there's a pretty big price difference between the two and if they have the same PCB/cooler capability then that's a way better option for me. On the Pulse: RX500 series now also undervolt pretty amazingly, so that 200A rating isn't that bad. AdoredTV got his RX580 silicon down to like 900 mV on stock RX580 clocks of 1257 mHz at like 1040 mV.

who designed the MB 24pin anyways, 2pin 12v connector for all the PCI-E 12v power, which can easily go over 150w on an 2x/3x SLI config. And PCI-E 6pin, which has 3 12v connectors only carries 75w..
@thomashalvorson66677 жыл бұрын
Cooper I think they use different gauge wire on the 24 pin vs the 6 or 8 pin. Not 100% sure but that's what makes sense to me.
@ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking7 жыл бұрын
ATX spec is 18AWG for everything. Garbage PSU might use worse and some high end PSUs are 16AWG
@thomashalvorson66677 жыл бұрын
Also, it's the connector that's holding the power limit down. One 18 AWG stranded wire cable has a current capacity of 16 amps, and at 12 volts that's 192 watts. If the motherboard has 2 of those then it can carry almost 400 watts if it was the wiring holding it back. I don't know specs for the connector, but I'm going to also guess they overbuild/underrate them for most use cases
@xiaxia6867 жыл бұрын
just checked Molex 26-01-3116 specifications, which have specifications both 13A per contact (16AWG wire in small connector) to 8.5A/contact (18AWG wire). it can delivery 200w with two contacts, but it is pushing it to the limit. ATX 24pin is so outdated and should really be refreshed/updated/completed replaced!

@kn00tcn7 жыл бұрын
everything is the same gpu, everything can be over or underclocked, the problem with 480 is higher video decoding power usage & lower clocks compared to 580, so i would go with 580 (not sure about sapphire pulse though) how much price difference?
@muhammadhelmihibatullah81137 жыл бұрын
kn00tcn the difference is just depends on the brands. asus rx 480 4gb is like 270$ and sapphire rx 580 4gb pulse 235$ And yep. Im confused.
@kn00tcn7 жыл бұрын
when it's other countries, the prices start changing based on who the distributor is, how different brands are imported, etc... this is on top of the individual models of cards, an asus strix should be more expensive than an asus dual since the strix has more features, higher clockspeed, better materials, but the gpu itself is about the same

Funny thing, i got even more striped down version of this card (all HDMI/DP ports not installed - only DVI) for 119$ from Amazon brand new. It runs 1500MHz core @, +70 on voltage, +30 on power limit.
