Acura NSX Rendering Stays True to 2025 Electrification Rumors, Looks Stunning.
Electric vehicles are able to achieve a feat previously only accomplished by mid- or rear-engine vehicles: they may entirely seal off the front end for significantly better aerodynamics and, most of the time, aesthetics as well.
Since the Honda NSX has always had a mid-engine configuration, it never experienced that problem. However, if the next generation Japanese sports vehicle were to completely transition to electric power, much more design freedom would be available.
The NSX has so far changed with each new generation. Built between the very early 1990s and 2005, the original one had a 3.0-liter (later 3.2-liter) V6 with the brand's VTEC technology, which allowed for and even promoted excessive revving. The less well-known second iteration added three electric motors to the hybrid setup, thereby providing the sports car all-wheel drive and greater power than before.
The most recent reports state that the new NSX will only run on electricity, but 2025 will be the year that we get to see it. Furthermore, it's unclear exactly what kind of car it will be because rumors have it that it will be Porsche's Taycan, which is, well, a four-door coupe. It remains to be seen if the new NSX will just compete with it in terms of performance or if it will also change in appearance. However, everything is conceivable now that Ford has adopted the Mustang name for its electric crossover.
It appears that Italian designer Fabio Ferrante disagrees, believing that the new Honda NSX should stay the Japanese brand's flagship vehicle, never being anything more than a sports car or a supercar. In a way, Fabio's approach is very conservative since he honors the original while making sure his creation appears contemporary, if not futuristic.
With its flawless proportions and exquisitely designed detailing, the stunning red electric sports car has an impeccable angle from every angle. Not often seen in renderings, it even has a fully constructed interior. Of course, creating open-top cars makes it more harder to keep it hidden, as this one appears to be.
This is just Fabio paying respect to one of the most reputable names in the industry-he isn't trying to predict what the new NSX will look like. As of right now, all guesses are as good as any because neither Honda nor any concept cars exist upon which to construct a design. If Fabio's rendition turns out to be much different from the original, at least it is exquisite, accurate, and true to the original.
