As you go through the modes from eco to sport+ the engine gets so much louder and sounds really good

I noticed the 18 Aspec engine note is way louder then the '17. So, I think it only pumps fake noise on 18+

Still does the same thing I even stood outside of my car an had someone drive it through all modes an it definitely gets louder. as you go up in the modes it gives the car power access an gives it its full potential especially in sport+ it makes night an day difference.

At one point I considered trading my 4th gen TL for one. I finally got around to putting an air intake on my wife’s TLX over Christmas 😂. With the slight modifications, the TLX is actually fun to drive around.

@4:27 yeah the honda automatics aren't the best, especially with the earlier j-series vehicles like the 2nd gen Odyssey or TL. Mines held up well with 224k km on my 2012 TL.

@Troy Wilson this one doesn't have the front Camera, but the Elite package does. Must be cause of the cold haha, lots of cars come.with heated rear seats. Even the TLX Type S doesn't come.with heated steering wheel in the US apparently, but it does here.

I love my TLX i have the 4 cylinder. Drive 60/40 HWY and get 31MPG, 500 miles per tank. The perfect daily driver imo.

I loved the DCT in the 4cyl, they failed by only offering the V6 with the DCT in the RLX Sport Hybrid.

@@RevsALot I was going to opt for the V6 ( also IF you ever mod your GFs V6, be very careful there have been some engine failures even on stock cars) the 3.5 is not as strong as the 3.7 in your car. our 2016 MDX ( same powertrain) motor blew at 60k and my cousin's 2018 ASPEC had a bent piston at 40k miles... That's what steered me away from the V6 TLX BUT, trust me and drive a 4 cylinder TLX Cody, make sure it's filled with 93 gas and you'll see just how fun it is. I get 31MPG in it (7.59 Liters per 100 km) I'm talking on a FULL tank, not just going downhill for 10 minutes, I;m talking a full week of driving 510+ miles, I did all that in one tank of fuel.

The v6 fwd isn't available in Canada, but they are quicker apparently cause less drivetrain loss and weight. The SH-AWD will definitely handle better though.

I powder coated any thing that wasn't black, also getting a ceramic coating right now for that great shine & also it's more hydrophobic. In that black it would be a good look as well

The 9spd ZF are known for not being reliable, especially 2015-17. That is why they switched to the 10spd, and it's been proven to be very reliable. That's why the 10spd is in all the new Acuras.

I prefer the black, cause then you can see the white stitching on the leather. Also, it has alcantara in the middle which is nice in summer and winter. Red does look very good though, just wish they had alcantara too.

Really quick question!! At a price range of almost $35k right now for a 2018 tlx a spec would it just be worth it for a Tesla model 3? A bit more extra for long range and look into the state tax rebate for the Tesla’s that will work in your favor ! I luv the Acura but man boy oh boy they are a good match up

I mean way better performance, no gas to pay for. Only thing is I love the look of the TLX way more, their SH-AWD system is better then Tesla awd, and nothing beats the sound of a nice engine roaring. It's all preference really.

20k+ more then you lose it all in depreciation. Also, the interior and sound system is definitely an upgrade. Performance is about the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile wise.

I would say it's worth it, and we have no issues with it. It's the gfs and she doesn't drive it hard at all though.

@@RevsALot I test drove one today and i didnt like the way it feels. It feels like it was lagging which I was very surprised since it's a V6. I might just upgrade to a 10th gen Accord Sport 2.0 Turbo.. Im not sure if you ever drove one, but its really quick. 0-60 in 5.6 seconds which is quicker than the TLX V6.

It's definitely laggy, need the pedal commander to fix the lag. Turbo got the down low torque, the v6 got the better top end and sound.

Haha not hating, it was just the better option for us. I didn't mention in the video, but the '17 had busted speaker, door handle would stick, didn't have the advertised ELS, and we found pretty decent damage on the rocker where someone dented in the bottom causing the door to rub.

Yah I'm kinna disappointed with the 10 Speaker ELS, my 8 speaker ELS in the 4G pounds way more. 20s will look really nice, but you'll hurt your performance being that they're heavier.

I had the '18 Aspec SH-AWD as a loaner when I brought my 4g in for maintenance. I hated it driving wise! Now that we own it, I've completely changed my view on it. Only thing I like better on 4g interior is the comfort of seats and the sound system. Also, nothing will ever beat the enjoyment of a manual SH-AWD.
