Awesome Korbinian ! So nice to see this play through, it’s quite rare to have the opportunity to have a focus on the bass part of a song. I love the bridge btw.

thanks! I love the bridge too! ;-)

Hey, I notice a little change to what you did in the official music video. Just before the chorus you played some higher notes. Is this playthrough how you will play it live?
@korbinianbass3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes i go up an octave right before the chorus, sometimes i stay in the middle register. Depends on what I'm feeling at the moment. In the studio i did go up an octave. Nicely spotted by the way! :-)

Is the bass and moog being played simultaneously on those notes one reason for the low-end being extra heavy?

Fuck yeah bro, let that bass face rip. Love your sound setup.

Nice bass tone. Which pick up on the Sandberg, and what's the signal chain?
@korbinianbass3 жыл бұрын
Both. Balance is 50/50. EQ is flat. I recorded straight DI and used the neural dsp plugin darkglass as my amp. Also i used the waves eddie kramer helios EQ plugin, the schepps omni channel and mv2 from waves.

is this satire? i mean it fully demonstrates that bass players contribute nothing to rock or metal bands in 99% of cases and bands only have them because they think they're supposed to.
@peterick54182 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not but bass makes a huge difference even though its only a subtle sound
@yannisr88882 жыл бұрын
Wow, the ignorance. Since you're able to use KZbin, search for "rock/metal songs without bass" and see for yourself what difference it makes.
@pancakerepairman2 жыл бұрын
@@yannisr8888 the recording of megadeth's peace sells with bass is the remastered version. the original recording just proves my point. iron maiden's the trooper is an example of a rock/metal song where bass guitar does contribute something. you can give hundreds of such examples, it won't disprove that in most rock/metal songs it doesn't. 99% was an exaggeration but i'll stand by bass guitar contributing nothing to 80% of rock/metal recordings.
