Wow, you really articulated your experiences in each country and the challenges really well!!! I've lived in 3 countries outside of the US, and I'm now a resident of Mexico, and when asked about the other two countries, for the most part I just say "it was raggedy" and "there were too many challenges I wasn't equipped to deal with and didn't want to deal with". Your ability to really evaluate and list your reasons in depth is phenomenal!

Wow, what a fresh voice! I am living off the grid and evacuating frequently in SoCal in the mountains. Want to visit? I'm traveling when I can to the Arctic, the northwest, the west coast in general in the US in the desert to the mountains. i have spend time working in the field in Evolutionary Biologist in the Galapagos, Barbados, Panama, and elsewhere. I do love the vibe I get when people capture where I'm at, but wow, that gets old. i'm half Chinese (immigrant dad) and half white (Scandinavian midwestern mom). I grew up near Seattle where there were both groups and lots of mixed kids. I am in a small mountain town now in Idyllwild, but I have had the itch to move for the last few years. Really, I'm a field biologist at heart, and I can't think of more generic applications of my education such as peace corps. I'm too deep into my field, so I think.

Thank you for sharing, Adalia! Such interesting comparisons between the 4 countries! I was born and lived in a communist country for my first 16 years and I completely understand what you say about China - my family knew several people that "disappeared" because of something they said about the government. We were always watched, as you say. And you are completely right about MX residency being so much easier to get - any immigrant to the USA knows that it takes > 10 yrs and thousand of USD to get. When I saw the 2 pages to fill out for MX residency and compared with the mountain of papers I had to fill with an attorney to get the green card in the US, I had a big smile...

I am a black man and it was really hard as a black male I am from the USA and I had to move back to the USA then went to Thailand where I was treated like a king and was happy and I was also in Wuhan China where I was treated like a king. So for me Asia is where being black is more beautiful for us then in Mexico.

Mexico was on my radar too. I’m even considering working in Los Angeles and then commuting to a neighboring city in Mexico. My first choice is the UAE. I ultimately want to retire and live in Mexico Edit: you’re a teacher too?? So am I. The way they treat teachers in America sucks 🤦🏾‍♀️. This is why I’m seeking opportunities abroad and the UAE & other places

But you are not retired, are you? It sounds like you work at least sometimes? This is so interesting you've made me curious about Mexico. If Honduras is the murder capital of the world, isn't Mexico far behind? I know things aren't so peaceful here in the US either. If you get the chance, I'd love to see a day in your life there.
@AdaliaAborisade
@AdaliaAborisade 3 жыл бұрын
To me being retired means you work IF you want to. Honestly, I don't typically keep up with those lists. But when I started researching Honduras prior to my move, that was all I could find on the internet. 😂
@MrZeev76
@MrZeev76 3 жыл бұрын
México might be a murder capital if you have dealings with the cartel, do drugs, or frequently hang out at seedy places late at night, but if you don't do any of those things you will more than likely feel safer here in México than in many US cities. That has been my experience.

Girl, you're brave as hell...to live in China??? Goodness, even the citizens there are scared shtless and walk around on eggshells, constantly being watched. It's practically a police state, but they're used to it at least, and have no there choice. And Kuwait would also be a stretch for the vast majority of Americans. Gotta give you props for having balls of steel! :D
