Congratulations on taking the steps to sell your house! Yes, you're doing it backwards, but I guess that's the safer way if you have possible doubts. When I decided to sell my house, it coming to Mexico but to start traveling in an RV. In general having a house and leaving it vacant for months wasn't a good idea when grass needed to be cut, or snow removed or grass watered etc, so the best thing for me was to just sell it. I tried to sell my furniture and anything I wasn't taking with me but that didn't really work out, as people wanted just one thing out of an entire set of dining room furniture for example. So, what actually worked was to just to leave ALL the furniture, accessories, wall art etc....like everything and sell the house as is with everything included. The only things I took out were items I would need for my RV. When my real estate agent listed like that with all the photos it sold immediately and I closed and left the property in 30 days. I thought at one point I would miss all of that stuff, and never missed anything and only replaced one thing I left in that house and that was one of those glass tea kettles to warm up water. That was it. Never repurchased anything I left. I still have that RV and everything in it in storage. I'll be going back to the US in July to sell it with everything included that I don't decide to take back here with me. It's been sitting since 2015, so whatever I haven't used, I certainly don't need now. That's the last thing I need to get rid of, and I already have a buyer so, easy peasy. You shouldn't have any issue bring your coffee pot, as long as it looks USED. I use amazon basics large duffel bags to bring back my stuff. That coffee maker will definitely fit in it. Just order some of those duffel bags and load them up with all your stuff. I swear those are the best bags for storing stuff and transporting stuff. For an example, those duffel bags will hold one of those white commercial buckets you see vendors using or the folks that wash cars around mexico. It will hold that and things even larger than that. Just giving you some suggestions. Personally, almost everything in Mexico is sky high. I've been saying that since I first came here. The only thing that is not high is Uber and Bus transportation. Buying homes or renting unfurnished homes and apartments are cheap. But, renting furnished apartments and homes are no cheaper than in the US. So, I have no clue why people think it's cheap to live in Mexico. I have no clue how the average person working in Mexico even can afford to live here. I buy mostly everything off amazon US or MX and have the stuff delivered including vitamins. But, since most stuff people from the US buy is exported down here, those cost increase the selling price unfortunately. But, unfortunately, anything you want to buy from another country no matter which country is higher than buying in the country where it's manufactured. For instance, when I was in london, I fell in love with those bakewell tarts and in the US you can't find them anywhere but on amazon. So, you pay like 5x more for them on Amazon, but I bought them because I wanted them. Same thing for Debbie Snacks. You can buy them on Amazon.MX and pay the import fees etc if you really want them :) Some department stores like Palacio Hierro has a lot of stuff you can buy online that they also deliver. Don't have any issues with Wifi where I'm located. My T-Mobile cell phone and data coverage works excellent too here. I've brought small cooking appliances to mexico in those duffel bags, including my best fans "vornado" and alexa devices, and everything else. No issues at all. A boatload of supplements. Customs only checked me the first time because I had 3 large duffle bags and a carry on and personal item. All the other times I took only two duffel bags or one and they didn't stop me. When they looked through myself they were mainly looking through the clothing labels. For either counterfeit or resell. The best thing is to have stuff all mixed up in your luggage and don't let appear as though the stuff is brand new and definitely remove the labels on everything. But, in a nutshell Mexico is expensive on everything in my opinion, and I feel sorry for people that can't afford it, which is a lot of people living and working here.

@@Mexitplans Thanks for your channel 👍 Just want to mention also, that Amazon MX has been giving free shipping and free export fees on a lot of products from the US. It will say "Gratis International" on those products. You can also go to Amazon US site and set your address to Mexico and see all the stuff they ship down here. I do it both ways to find the cheapest way. Good luck 👍. Oh, and knock on wood I haven't had any issues with noise where I'm at right now. The first place I stayed there were lots of dogs barking. Only thing here are the musicians that walk up and down the streets fri-sun. I usually give them money.

@Galleta de Soda In Mexico City. It's no cheaper than living in most regular cities in the US. Don't believe everything you see in videos. If you're in a small city in Mexico, yes it's cheaper. But, I have no desire to live in a small city in Mexico. I love Mexico City, and the prices are higher for everything, except transportation and drugs, than in many small to medium size cities I've lived all my life. Also, even traveling throughout the US for 10 years I had good knowledge on basic prices for average food, cleaning and healthcare products. For instance, a "single room" furnished guesthouse in a decent area runs from $900-$2000, after monthly discounts. Furnished studio with a separate bedroom $2000-$3500. All grocery store products are the exact same prices as in the US, or a lot more no matter what grocery store. I've been to them all. I buy a lot of stuff off amazon US website and have it shipped here for free or a few dollars than buy it off Amazon MX site. Or buy it off Amazon MX that gives free shipping from the US. Walking around Mexico City and any city in Mexico you can always find cheap street food, or comida corrida, but inside a regular restaurant, the prices are the same as in the US.
@GlobalAdventurer3 жыл бұрын
@Galleta de Soda I'm aware of all that, I'm was just stating the facts that Mexico City is indeed expensive for everyday living. I can more than afford it, but I just don't like paying an arm and a leg for something as simple as listerine or any mouthwash that I used to buy the largest bottle they make for $3.00 in the US. The same manufacturers are here and the stuff is still expensive. Even their off brands are expensive. But, I like living here a whole lot better than anywhere in the states, so it's just a very minor issue.
@GlobalAdventurer3 жыл бұрын
@Galleta de Soda When I talk about high accommodation prices in Mexico City, I'm talking about furnished accommodations as long term rentals. Not for purchase. I'm not buying any property anywhere. I sold my last house in 2005 and was glad to do so. I'm a full time traveler and just need a nice comfortable place with housekeeping and security and I'm fine. I love the place I live and hope to live there indefinitely. Especially since the owners (two families) own all the buildings on the entire block and take really good care of all of them. I trust them also, and they don't allow kids there or dogs. It's on the oldest most scenic street in Mexico City, in Santa Catarina. Got an excellent deal to stay here compared with all the other homes I looked at. Above all it's a total stand alone house, with no houses on all four sides. Complete privacy. Couldn't ask for more😊. So, I'm a happy camper 👍

They have polenta there, which is actually healthier for you than the degerminated white grits most of us eat here. We’ve already been transitioning ourselves over to prepare for what’s not in Merida. It’s fine to take stuff w/you, but if you’re planning on staying forever, as we are soon, you’ll eventually run out of those things then will be thrown into having to find alternatives. 🤷🏾♀️💙 Just immerse yourself in the area and don’t look back. Most of the time we hold onto a bunch of stuff because it’s comfortable.

Walmart is pretty decent as well. I’m unsure about your area, but it’s beyond silent here. It’s louder in Florida. Thank you for your videos. I do have a question: Are there stray dogs in your area? Can you recommend an area of Merida where stray dogs are not an issue?
@Mexitplans2 жыл бұрын
That area does not exist in All of Mexico maybe Latin America. The stray dogs see you and walk on by minding their business. I’ve never seen an aggressive stray dog. Once during the pandemic I saw like 40 dogs in a casino parking lot. I somehow think they were placed there for security of that space. They were aggressive to other pets walking by but that was it.

One more thing, I forgot to mention about "Swiffers", you know the sweeper that you attach a disposable cloth? Well, Amazon MX use to not carry them, but they carry them now, and prices fluctuate often. Anyway, regardless that they sell them, it's not a thing most Mexicans are interested in buying. They still like to use a squeegee and a rag to clean the floor, or a mop. Just like the street cleaners rather use those homemade humongous brooms made out of real bush twigs. They actually do the job way better than a push broom. Ok. I'm done. lol
@Mexitplans3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I brought back swiftest for a friend before. I forgot to add this for the house.
@GlobalAdventurer3 жыл бұрын
@@Mexitplans Many countries I've been to the folks don't have any interest in a "swiffer", even after I tell them how easy it is to use and show them a video. Many people are very traditional in the way they live and have no use for anything more convenient. That's what I found out in many countries I've been too. I guess the same thing applies to people who were born and raised in the US. US likes coffee and donuts mainly and in the UK they like tea and biscuits/cookies/tarts. So, we are all so different.
