Striking just great a performer he was back then. Not just vocals but the lot - looks, clothes, dancing, theatricality... A proper showman that British pop is too self-consciously and calculatedly cool to produce now.

The look and clothes came from Malcolm McLaren and his girlfriend of the time Vivienne Westwood. They also did the styling for the New York Dolls, Bow Wow Wow and of course the Sex Pistols.
@jok89964 жыл бұрын
@@speleokeir Actually, the clothes here are ones sourced elsewhere and the coats in this and "Strip" were made by a woman called Sue Blane. I am spending my Saturday morning in a blissful trip down memory lane back to the 80's. Adam Ant was and remains one of my all time favourite artists, everything about him was very different and eclectic. Even now there isn't really an artist who is so instantly recognisable or has such a distinct sound at least for me. Loved this song, He always looked to be having so much fun both with the ants and as a solo artist, I hope he has found some peace after the problems he went through later, he deserves it. All the best Adam.

The Strip album had a lot of catchy tunes on it. I still listen to Adam Ant a lot - his music never gets old.

I asked a lesbian friend once if there was any guy she'd go straight for, without hesitation she said Adam Ant, circa 1983. Though she and I were both into the girl in this vid.

I haven't heard this for years but I still love it 💗 I was 14 when it was released. It was a huge part of my youth - my entire room was wall to wall with Adam Ant posters. I still own the vinyl records and a few singles.

Absolutely adorable, love the video much! Nowadays directors and artists don't have so vivid imagination 😢
