I met Adam Ant back in 1983 when he came to do a concert at Lafayette College. I was working at the Sheraton where they stayed. They put me on a guest list for the concert. Afterwards I was invited to their room for an after party. Had a great time no(alcohol or drugs) jus t music and great conversation. Bunch of great guy's. Those were the days.

I don't regret being 67. I have all these awesome music memories from when the songs were BRAND NEW starting when I could first remember in 1962 all the way up through today! 🤩Goody Two Shoes is one tune that demands to be turned way up for the benefit of my wife (and all of our neighbors.)😁

Gary Numan tells a great Adam Ant story: When Adam Ant hit Number One, Gary sent him a note of congratulations. To show his appreciation, Adam stopped by Gary's recording studio with a bottle of champagne (which is funny because neither of them drank alcohol) and then accidentally spilled the whole bottle on the studio floor. But Gary said Adam was a great guy for the gesture.

Looking back on this 40 years later, you can see how clever and fun this was. I remember a lot of kids (and adults) did not really know what to make of him as he sounded so different than most pop music at the time, but he was definitely on to something different and new. A novel sound with some interesting influences, including big band and ska and rockabilly.

Anyways, i aged gracefull too so theres that 😋. Thx adam ant 👊🏻. Now a days i give power pt presentations to the elderly on lingo so they know whats up. Alright class, so when they say ,"im not mad at it" what does that mean? That were not haters. & What does haters mean? Jealous disgraceful folks. Solution? "Aint nobody got time for all that." That never happened but it kinda did. I made money dancing tho, thx. Plenty the xs the it girl. I was def still weird tho & oh well.

I only have two regrets from the 80's. The three months I devoted my life to break dancing and capezios. As for the rest, here is my summary. Van Halen, Samba trainers, concert jerseys, riding the bus to the beach with my buddy Tom, Shaolin Kung Fu, Magnum PI, That’s Incredible, Reagan, and what seemed at the time to be a very complicated world. Look at it now... We lived in the last age of innocence. Nostalgia tears of joy shared with each of you. God Bless All of You!

That was one of my favourite things to do, not just to this but I used to ask for something random then leap all around the dance floor mainly on my own and I didn’t care. I was shy off the dance floor but not on it - once you got me up lol. I remember asking for Pink Floyd’s “Shine on you crazy diamond”, and the whole place was silent. The DJ was obviously unfamiliar with it, and so were most of the people there. I am looking at the positive side to that as I’m sure there were a few converts to the bands music! 😂😂

I watched his documentary, and I must say this song pretty much sums up who he was. He didn't drink, didn't smoke, didn't do drugs. He wasn't gay, and loved women too much. So the media had to make something be wrong with him, and they ridiculed him! They went out there and found something to nail him with, and they found his father: the reason for him being a goody two shoes. He didn't drink and drugs because of his father and his hard childhood. How sad is that? Listening to this song now knowing all that the lyrics make more sense. I'm late to the party, I know, but I just found it interesting.

It was one of the best videos, which was great, uplifting, upbeat and showed this beautiful music with great visual memory. We were young men at the time, and who wouldn't want to see someone very proper taking off her glasses and showing her wild side, yes, we enjoyed life and had great memories of music and timeless period in entertainment in general. Me too in Jr High (8th grade). Anyone else remembering wearing pins from your favorite bands on your clothes, & leather jackets? I remember one friend wearing Boy George, John Taylor, Depeche Mode, Robert Smith, & Morrissey Smith pins, another Def Leppard, Van Halen, D2, & Police, while I had Adam Ant, Simon LeBon, Michael Jackson pins. Getting excited when the latest teen mag had a picture spread This was my favorite AA song, & basically my theme song during middle & high school years since I was religiously repressed, & couldn't even talk to school friends outside of school time, or even allowed to go to a single school dance. Needless to say, I embodied a goody two shoes perfectly. No drinking. No smoking. Not even cursing. But once freed from insanely religious parental control, & began living my own life after being thrown out of their house for discussing moving😊😢when turned 18, that's when my real life really began. There were lots of friends, live concerts, clubs, dancing, drinking, bars, more concerts, watching band rehearsals in friends' garages & sound studies, bon fires at beaches, more drinking, housedrinking, Harley's & too much fun. Being an adult hasn't always been easy, but it's beat the hell out of my childhood. Waited until almost 30yo before having any kids allowed for lots of time for fun before the extra responsibilities parenting brings.😊😊😢

Geoff Shaw that's escapism and not the real world. if we don't learn from history we're doomed to repeat it. the world will never get better like that. Well, maybe it will in Japan. They're doing ok as a society and have a fairly deep seated denial of WW2
@Fektthis
@Fektthis 8 жыл бұрын
Geoff Shaw if that's what you think then that's fine by me. I'm not going to argue it. Hell, you're one second ignoring history and the next trying to spin it. They have a lower crime rate than we do. They have a stronger work force and hell even work ethic than we do. They have a far better education system than we do. They're over all healthier than we are. But yeah, what you said because you heard how the refer to themselves as grass eaters and meat eaters somewhere at some time. We'll ignore our own hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, chemical plants blowing up, trains derailing, and over all shooting each other up. I bet they wish they were us.

Saw this video on MTV when I was in kindergarten. My friends older sisters were watching it while we played. I was immediately hooked. I somehow got my parents to understand what the song was, which was a feat for a kindergartener, and they bought me the 45. I wore that sucker out on my portable suit case record player, jumping around the room but not too hard because I didn't want to skip the record. I don't remember much from way back then, but that is one of those clear memories I will probably keep till my mind goes.

Here are the real lyrics!! With the heartbreak open So much you can't hide Put on a little makeup, makeup Make sure they get your good side, good side If the word's unspoken Gets stuck in your throat Send a treasure token, token Write it on a pound note, pound note Goody two, goody two, goody goody two shoes Goody two, goody two, goody goody two shoes Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? You don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Subtle innuendos follow There must be something inside We don't follow fashion That'd be a joke You know we're going to set them, set them So everyone can take note, take note When they saw you kneeling Crying words that you mean Opening their eyeballs, eyeballs Pretending that you're Al Green, Al Green Goody two, goody two, goody goody two shoes Goody two, goody two, goody goody two shoes Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? You don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Subtle innuendos follow Must be something inside No one's gonna tell me What's wrong and what's right Or tell me who to eat with, sleep with Or that I've won the big fight, big fight Look out or they'll tell you You're a "Superstar" Two weeks and you're an all-time legend I think the games have gone much too far If the word's unspoken Gets stuck in your throat Send a treasure token, token Write it on a pound note, pound note Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? You don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Subtle innuendos follow: Must be something inside, he's hidin' Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Ya don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Subtle innuendos follow: Must be something inside, he's hidin' Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Ya don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do?
