I'm a silver smith and it has given me so much pleasure to return treasured items like this. Most of my clients have pieces like this and they mean the world to the people who bring them in.

I love this show! Most times it’s not the item, but who the item represents that we hang on to.❤

I have a necklace that belonged to my grandmother. It is crystal beads on a silver chain. I was wearing it and the chain snapped. Thankfully I was able to retrieve all of the crystal beads. Found out upon. Inspection that a few of the silver chain links snapped. I took it to a local jeweler and thankfully they were able to fix the chain and restring the beads.

Noooo!! Don't clean out the patina grooves from a piece like this!! That's a show of journey and age of the piece and adds to the sentimental meaning for this man!! Just polish the surface next time!!

With the repair the patina would not be even and the repair would stand out. Just my thoughts.
