@moonlightfilms52792 жыл бұрын
It’s most likely not listening. The amount of resources it would take to gather and process that information would not be cost effective. What happens is you have a unique profile that is associated with most devices you use, this profile takes in a summation of lots of different meta data such as google searches, location, time spent on a website down to specifically how long you hold a cursor over something. They can tell via your geolocation that you spent a fair amount of time, even if it was just a few minutes, in close proximity to the woman who has her own unique profile. They will take some of her meta data, such as recent data that might have her googling or listening to a specific song, and feed it to you. What happens most of the time, is she was fed that song via her proximity to someone else, she responded in someway that registered some sort of positive response, such as a 5 second abnormal pause, then they try to repeat the same reaction say with you, and it just kinda keeps going on and on continuously with other people in a cycle. I’m a software engineer, they’re not listening to you, but it’s still definitely creepy the amount of information they have on you and how they try use social engineering to find a way to get your attention

Now I cant even get a cheap haircut without them asking full name/address/email/phone number.. I asked the girl why they needed all that and she flat out said, "It's so we can track you better.. we track where our customers go(shop) so we know where to put up our next stores, which sites to advertise on, and we'll mail you coupons etc".. ..Of course i use fake names for all that stuff, but if a cheap barber shop is gathering that much data just imagine what the actual data collectors or gov is doing. While I agree that TikTok has garnered a lot of attention for how it influences young people’s minds (in usually bad dumb ways)…I think the better solution is to teach kids and youth NOT to do dumb things they see on the internet. We don’t ban movies because we have an expectation (in America) that kids will be raised properly enough to know the difference between fiction and reality. We should better teach kids to control themselves rather than take away their ability to use something based on a lack of self control.
@adrielle1123TT Жыл бұрын
@Don’t come for me unless I send for you 🤷 I think u could make the same argument for movies and shows. Movies/shows are created using data that shows what kind of material has alot demand/popularity. Scripts created with that info in mind are typically okay'd for financial backing by production companies. Television/Movies were one of the first biggest influences on American society nationally. People within that media also consume it

That alone shows how little he actually knows of the situation, and for those who don't: TikTok doesn't just keep track of a lot of people. It also isn't just taking money away from silicon Valley lmao. What it is doing is *learning how you operate on an emotional level* so that it can *keep you on, most often stuck in a negative-feedback loop* while seeing nobody but the *prettiest and richest* of people doing simplistic 15 second dance trends. Compared to China, where it is recorded for the world to see how TikTok limits children's usage in China while only showing videos of people working hard, helping others, or science experiments. It is literally psychological warfare and I'm tired of this basic propaganda when we've had so much evidence for so long and are now getting studies further supporting the damage TikTok causes.
