Covid brought me back to Christ as well. And the BLM / antifa social unrest. When you not only see hate and evil, not only manipulation and malevolence - but also blind compliance and turning on your co-workers and neighbors. Things that means something MEAN SOMETHING. And those that had no REAL moral grounding were able to falsely place meaning in a massive ad campaign called “two weeks to flatten the curve” or “pandemic of the unvaxxed” or “you’re trying to kill grandma.”

Divine providence. God can use evil for the fulfillment of his plan. I wouldn't say, 'if there is evil there must be good for balance' because that is a dualistic metaphysic. However if man lives a disordered life and rejects the good then 'evil' will be the result as the absence of the good. Our culture is extremely disordered - abortion, gay marriage, degenerate books in libraries for children, policy that reinforces christian persecution, use of power over reason (lockdowns, forced vaccinations).

"Very different depiction of Jesus and his life and the disciples." That said more than you realized. What you just described is a different Jesus than the Bible describes. No wonder the world loves 'the chosen' so much. John 5:43, "I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive." And that's exactly what's going on. The world wants a Jesus that makes them comfortable. A Jesus created in their image.

I grew up Catholic and always had a belief in Christ. But I had never really experienced Him, or the sense of truly being "born again", and still have not. I believe that being baptized by the Holy Spirit is more than a mere belief or verbal proclamation of Christ being Lord, but something that happens to you. It has clearly not happened to me yet. But as to seeing evil, I've had malevolent spirit entities in my life and around me for 7 years. It has been awful. I have lived several different places during that time, and they have followed me. So it is not a haunted living space. I hear them just about every day, even as I type this. I've had physical evidence such as shattered light bulbs, so this is not an auditory hallucination or mental illness. My dog senses them at times as well, it is very obvious. There is no question they are malevolent, they hijack my dreams at night and drain my energy. I have not had a restful night's sleep since before Covid, honestly. They have ruined my life in several aspects pretty much. I have rebuked them in Christ's name, to no avail. I am a reasonably smart person and have tried everything that would occur to most people. I even had two Catholic exorcisms a couple years ago. One was with two priests, the other was with a Bishop and several priests around him. Neither seemed to have any positive impact, probably b/c I am not possessed. But these things are clearly entangled with my soul on some level, it is horrifying. I got water baptised fully immersed in like 2019 as well, which also did not have an impact. So the only thing I will ask is for people to pray for me, so if you read this, please do. I pray that any healing benefit I experience as the result of prayers be returned to those who prayed for me, a thousand fold. So anyway, for evil forces like this to be real, I know that there must be forces of light as well. I feel very distant from them though, unfortunately. Peace to all. 🙏

We intuitively know that evil only exists, or is not active, unless it is acting upon something good. Even though I easily understood that it still blew my mind. A thing can be good all by itself - like crops that grow from the seeds we plan. A baby is good - a new life, the start of a new generation and it has no evil plans or actions. Evil on the other hand has to act upon something good.
@pocket83squared5 ай бұрын
You also "intuitively know" that some things are intrinsically good, apparently. And thus is born the intuition-based morality, the progenitor of such classics as stoning, slavery, and witch-burning. Tell me, how do you know that a seed's growth is good, outside of 'feeling' it is so? _Good for hunger_ is only a good that's with respect to something; food does no good when one is drowning, so food cannot be an objective good. And it's no good to a plant to be eaten. Good and evil are constructs of the imagination. Outside of the mind, there is absolutely no basis from which you can assert that they exist. Any categorical lines you draw will be arbitrary. Your intuitions have absolutely no bearing on reality.

I remember him from when he was a DJ on Dutch TV. Maybe in some distant future, humans will think that Harry Potter was a religious figure doing magical things and fighting evil. Or Luke Skywalker, or an amalgamation of the two (or more such fictional characters). Time has a nasty habit of blurring the past to a point where what remains is an approximation of what historians think happened. Especially where records are non-existent or sketchy at best.

get a bible, start in mathew, pray and seek god, for at least a year, and see what happens.

Jesus is God, God the Father calls his Son God. Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

There is no holiness without a Source of holiness. Sabbath is the holy day because God made it for us holy! Think about it!

@lizajohnsen4353 No, He is not. Jesus, actually Yeshua is the Messiah. Sabbath is sabbath since the seventh day of creation of the Universe. Think about it.

Jesus is my sabbath He is my rest. He is Holy.. I understand where you are coming from I read my bible diligently I’m not arguing as messianic Jews have a sabbath on Saturday we as born again believers in Jesus have Sunday.. blessings ❤️
@przemkowaliszewski32905 ай бұрын
@lizajohnsen4353 Sunday is a sun-day. There is a deeper theosophical behind the Sabbath. Certaibly, you can read in your Bible that this day commemorates Creator and act of creation. It is holy because God Almighty has declared it holy. The Messiah is holy because Shehina YHVH has rested on His face as Paul writes in the II Cor 4, 1-6. He plays a different role that Sabbath. Anyway ...

read the bible apart from catholic doctrine and they don't match. catholicism is a cult. in catholicism you never know when you have done enough to be saved.

As long as you continue to embrace people like Trump, no one on the fence about religion is going to give it a second thought. The hypocrisy will ALWAYS be organized religion's greatest downfall.

Jesus wasn't actually an outlaw. He was falsely accused & falsely persecuted. Jesus did admit himself to be God many times, such as saying I and the father are one, or calling himself the Son of Man. To one new on these topics those words may not mean much, but to those well educated in the scriptures (such as was with the Pharisees & Sadducees) those words carry deep meaning, proclaiming himself God/equal to God.

I grew up with a Catholic mother and a Lutheran father. I was always a non church going Christian. I left Christianity when I realized how much God hates me because I am poor. Everything online tells me God hates me and he rewards the wealthy. Why should I believe anymore? I'm destined for hell anyways.
